Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) is one of India's largest technological universities, boasting over 24 years of excellence in engineering and technical education, research, and innovations.
Established in 1998, VTU was created to meet the needs of Indian industries for skilled technical personnel with practical experience and theoretical knowledge.
VTU operates four regional centres in Karnataka: Belagavi, Bengaluru, Kalaburagi, and Mysuru. Academically, VTU is organised into seven departments: aerospace engineering, applied science, civil engineering, computer science engineering, electronics and communications engineering, mechanical engineering, and management studies. Each department offers various undergraduate degree programmes.
VTU also has the VTU Post Graduate Centres Programme, which offers a range of master's and doctoral-level courses.
VTU has established centres of excellence across Karnataka to drive technological and societal change, focusing on areas like energy, societal integration, digital innovation, sustainability, and entrepreneurship.
