The Early Career Awards (ECA) are designed to support Singaporeans who have recently completed their postdoctoral training and prepare them for an academic career at SIT. This award aims to enhance the teaching capabilities of the recipient and help build a strong research portfolio. About the role The Associate Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Learning & Teaching (ADVC L&T) is a critical executive leadership role within RMIT's College of Vocational Education (CoVE). Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, CoVE, the role provides strategic and operational leadership across vocational learning and teaching, quality, compliance, educator capability, student experience and learning innovation. This appointment comes at an important point in the College's evolution. RMIT is seeking a leader who can strengthen the foundations of quality and assurance while also driving contemporary approaches to vocational pedagogy, course design, assessment, digital learning and applied, practice-based education. To be successful in this position, you will bring: Significant senior leadership experience in vocational education, ideally in a large TAFE, dual-sector university, public provider or comparable complex education environment. Deep knowledge of VET quality, compliance, governance and regulatory obligations, including ASQA and related state and federal quality frameworks. Demonstrated capability to lead learning and teaching improvement, educator capability, course design, assessment practice and student-centred innovation. About the role This position will undertake research using the Kids and Sibs study, a longitudinal investigation examining predictors of bipolar disorder development in a high-risk population with up to 15 years of follow-up. The study includes rich phenotypic data, as well as neuroimaging and blood biomarkers (including genetic data) on up to 440 individuals, with varying lengths of follow up (PI Mitchell). The data are aligned with an international dataset (across four US Universities) ensuring opportunities for robust replication. We also encourage applicants with broad interests in neuroscience and epidemiology relating skills, as additional research opportunities are available using linked data research, and intervention development/evaluation (PI Ratheesh). Applicants with prior research expertise relating to bipolar disorder or depression are especially encouraged.
