Applications are now invited for the following post: Senior Lecturer / Lecturer Department of Sociology and Social Policy (Post Ref.: 25/284) The Department of Sociology and Social Policy brings together scholars with international research experience and publication records in the major areas of Sociology and Social Policy. Over the years, our faculty members have been the recipients of the University’s Research Excellence Award and Teaching Excellence Award. The Department offers undergraduate teaching in Sociology, Social and Public Policy, and Health and Social Services Management, while hosting an MSocSc Programme in Comparative Social Policy (International) (IMCSP). We have been consistently successful in attracting MPhil and PhD students from around the world, particularly the recipients of the Hong Kong RGC Junior Research Fellow Scheme, and obtaining the General Research Fund (GRF) and other external competitive grants. General Requirements Applicants should have a PhD degree in Sociology, Social Policy, Social Work, Health Studies or other related disciplines, with relevant teaching experience. Excellent communication and presentation skills in English are essential. The appointee should be able to take up teaching duties in some of the courses on the Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) Programme, including but not limited to: “Introduction to Health and Social Care”, “Fundraising and Programme Evaluation”, “Health and Social Service Provisions for Special Populations”, “Health and Social Service Project” and “Social Innovation & Social Enterprises”. Description The newly established NYUAD Wireless Research Center at New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Post-Doctoral Associate (PDA) to engage in cutting-edge research on the development of omni-band wireless systems for 6G and beyond. The PDA will be jointly supervised by Elza Erkip, Qurrat-Ul-Ain Nadeem and Murat Uysal. Principal Responsibilities The PDA will conduct research on the physical layer and MAC layer design for wireless systems, particularly across multiple spectrum bands. The PDA is expected to actively disseminate results through publications in high-impact journals and presentations at leading international conferences. The PDA is expected to contribute to the intellectual property development through patent filings, as well as participating in international standardization efforts relevant to wireless technologies, in coordination with academic and industrial collaborators. Qualifications Applicants must hold a PhD degree in electrical/electronics engineering, telecommunications or related field. Other requirements include: Strong background in wireless communication systems and networks Expertise in physical layer and MAC layer design for wireless systems Proven track record of publications in relevant IEEE journals and conferences In addition to the above qualifications, it is highly desirable that the candidate has prior research experience in one or more of the following research topics: Resource allocation for wireless networks Radio resource management and mobility management Cognitive radio or adaptive communication systems, including dynamic spectrum access, band selection  Heterogeneous network architectures, including terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks Deep learning for wireless communication problems, particularly in areas such as spectrum management, adaptive system design, or cognitive radio. Job Description The successful candidate will: Undertake original research of international excellence. Set up of fuel cell testing plateform Support the appropriate equipment purchasing and ability to deal with international suppliers. Testing PEM fuel cell technologies Prepare papers for publication in leading journals and/or contribute to the dissemination at national/international conferences, workshops and meetings. Communicate to the research projects team the development, progress and results of research activities. Identify areas of improvement within the research structure using integrated management approaches in pursuit of capacity building/strengthening and the preservation of scientific rigor in research studies. Support if required, the development of proposals for research funding. Assist to the supervision of Ph.D. students and guide their research work. Candidate Profile Due to the multidisciplinary character of ACER CoE, the ideal candidate must have as well a multidisciplinary scientific profile: PhD degree in Electrical Science, Energy Processes or another suitable engineering discipline. Sound background in Energy systems and Fuel cell hydrogen applications. Skills in modeling & structural analysis using various existing techniques. Knowledge in advanced thermal and water management systems will be valued. Familiar with risk assessment and safe working procedures in a chemical laboratory. Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English. Good publication track record in peer-reviewed journals. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary and multicultural team.
