Veritas University, Abuja is based in Abuja. It is a private institution founded by the Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos. Licensed by the National Universities Commission (NUC) in 2007, it enrolled its first students the following year. It was first established in Obehie in Abia State and then moved to its permanent 220 hectare campus in 2014. Students are required to live on campus in dedicated student accommodation. The university has five faculties including natural and applied sciences, management sciences, humanities, social sciences, education and postgraduate studies. The Veritas Journal of Humanities is the first official journal from the university.

Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology and the State Key Laboratory of Liver Research Ref.: 535085 Work type: Full-time Department: Department of Pathology, School of Clinical Medicine (21200) Categories: Senior Research Staff & Post-doctoral Fellow Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor (RAP) in the Department of Pathology and the State Key Laboratory of Liver Research (Ref.: 535085), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in cancer biology or molecular biology, and in-depth experience as demonstrated by a relevant strong track record. Research experience in molecular cancer biology is required and experience with different animal models will be an advantage. Applicants should have a strong interest in translational research, the ability to work independently as well as in a team, and the ability to contribute intellectually to research development. The appointee will work in a multi-disciplinary group and investigate the molecular mechanism of liver cancer using cutting-edge strategies. The appointee will develop research programs independently, write scientific publications, grant proposals and reports, and supervise junior research staff and students. The Faculty of Medicine wishes to appoint an NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer, hosted by one of the following clinical specialties: Public Health, Paediatrics or Ophthalmology. The post is intended for an applicant within any of these three specialities, with the speciality of the final (single) post dependent on the successful applicant. The post-holder will be pursuing their development of research and teaching within either the Primary Care, Population Science and Medical Education school, Human Development and Health school or Clinical and Experimental Sciences school of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Southampton. In this post-doctoral role, the successful candidate will be in specialist clinical training at ST3 level or above and have substantial experience of the relevant research areas, a proven track record of high-quality original research publications, the ability to work well in a multidisciplinary, multi-professional team and hold a corresponding NTN. You will join the NIHR Clinical Integrated Academic Training Programme at the University of Southampton, as an NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer. The post-holder will also have clinical commitments at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust that will lead to the acquisition of clinical skills required for full registration within the specialty.
