With a rich history that dates back to 1940, Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University is one of the oldest institutions of higher education in western Ukraine. 

It was originally established as Stanislav Teacher Training Institute and became Stanislav Pedagogical Institute in 1950. In 1971 it was renamed after a famous Ukrainian writer, Vasyl Stefanyk, and in 2004 the institute was granted full university status. 

The university is located in Ivano-Frankivsk, formerly Stanyslaviv and Stanislav, a city in western Ukraine. 

There are 11 faculties within the university: faculty of economics, faculty of foreign languages, faculty of pedagogy, faculty of psychology, faculty of tourism, faculty of philology, faculty of physics and technology, faculty of history, politics and international relations, faculty of natural sciences, and the faculty of physical education and sports. 

Each faculty is divided into different departments, which offer a wide range of both undergraduate and graduate degree programmes.

There are also four institutes: Institute of Graduate Studies and Pre-University Education, Educational-Scientific Institute of Art, Kolomyya Educational-Scientific Institute, and the Educational-Scientific Institute of Law. 

The international relations office is responsible for establishing partnerships with various higher education institutes across the globe in order to facilitate academic and scientific exchanges. These institutes include the Ganja State University in Azerbaijan, the University of Valencia in Spain, and the University of Warsaw in Poland.

Description The Research Center on Stability, Instability and Turbulence (SITE) a center of the Research Institute, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Post-Doctoral Associate to work in the fluid mechanics laboratory for experimental fluid dynamics.  SITE is inviting applications for fully-funded postdoctoral research associate positions. SITE is highly interdisciplinary and aims to develop novel enabling technology on hydrodynamic stability analysis that has applications in the study of the development of singularities, the long-time behavior of complex systems, the formation of spatial patterns, the transition between stability and instability, and the first steps of transition towards turbulence that appear in several disciplines across science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and innovation. Candidates must hold (or be close to completing) a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Physics and Applied Physics or a related field. Working in a newly established fluid dynamics laboratory at NYU Abu Dhabi, candidates are expected to have a strong interest in experimental research and collaborate with applied mathematicians closely. The Role The Department of Archaeology at Durham University seeks to appoint a talented researcher to the role of Postdoctoral Research Associate. The successful candidate will have expertise in bioarchaeology, with particular experience in the analysis of infants. They will be responsible for developing digital resources from existing materials to upskill archaeological and forensic science professionals in the excavation and analysis of infant skeletal remains from archaeological and forensic contexts. These resources will contribute towards the Continuing Professional Development of relevant practitioners, as well as provide key learning resources for interested parties. The successful applicant will be expected to work collaboratively with other technical staff to develop and create appropriate resources. The project is led by Dr Claire Hodson and Professor Rebecca Gowland.
