The Integration Specialist will design, implement, and operate robust, secure, and scalable data integrations across MU’s enterprise landscape (Finance, Student Administration, HR/Payroll, Research, CRM and related systems). The role ensures seamless, timely, and accurate data movement through automated pipelines and APIs, reducing manual effort, eliminating silos, and improving data quality for analytics and operations. The roll will be key to leveraging the University’s significant data assets, by keeping data current, available, accurate and consistent - transforming data into information that will add value to the organisations’ processes. Role Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and accomplished Assistant Professor in Data Science / Statistics to join our growing academic team at the University’s Mumbai Enterprise Campus (MEC), a flagship transnational education initiative of the University of Bristol set to open its doors in 2026, coinciding with the University’s 150th anniversary. The role will contribute to curriculum and research development, and strengthen the University’s academic reputation through teaching, innovation, high-impact research, and external engagement. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver high-quality teaching, lead independent research initiatives, and support the broader academic and administrative development of the department. The role will report to the Professor / Associate Professor and have dotted lines reporting and collaboration to a senior academic in Head of School of Mathematics in the Faculty of Science and Engineering (S&E). This position offers a platform for career advancement, including the potential for progression to Associate Professor based on performance and institutional contribution. Key Responsibilities Leadership, Culture, and Engagement Participate in faculty committees, academic events, student recruitment, and quality assurance processes. Contribute to institutional development and participating in training and capacity-building initiatives. Build industry and/or academic partnerships that enhance the University’s visibility and engagement with external stakeholders. Work collaboratively with Professional Services partners to deliver delegated administrative and governance duties. Teaching Design and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses ranging from mathematical statistics and machine learning to coding and algorithmics. Contribute to curriculum development initiatives and contribute to academic programme design in collaboration with senior colleagues and faculty teams. Contribute and promote innovative teaching strategies that improve student experience, transferable skills creation and employability prospects. Play a role in curriculum development and contextualisation, programme accreditation, programme enhancement and the maintenance of quality assurance standards within the university. Research Supervise student research projects, theses, and internships, providing academic guidance and mentoring. Build an excellent record of high-quality publications in reputable, peer-reviewed academic journals, or recognised discipline-specific outputs, actively contributing to the international discourse in Data Science / Statistics. Pursue research funding and build interdisciplinary collaborations across the university network. Essential Criteria A completed PhD in mathematical statistics and data science. Evidence of ability to teach to a very high standard at undergraduate and postgraduate levels An emerging track record of high-quality scholarly research, with potential to publish in highly ranked journals. Evidence of excellent organisational and administrative skills. Excellent communication, leadership, and collaborative skills. Demonstrates a proactive approach to professional development. Strong programming expertise. Proven experience in machine learning and data science. Our School is part of The Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, which has a ‘One Health’ ethos that promotes understanding of a ‘whole society’ approach to health and builds on our aims to develop truly interprofessional training. The role We are seeking motivated and collaborative individuals to join our team in delivering high-quality, reliable, and valid assessments within our undergraduate medical programme. We have three part-time 0.5 FTE posts available, each with a dedicated focus on Year 2, Year 3, or Year 4 of the Graduate Entry Medicine (GEM) course.  Working closely with the relevant Year Lead and the Director of Assessment, successful candidates will contribute to the development and implementation of innovative formative and summative assessments, drawing on contemporary assessment theory and evidence-based methods, including knowledge tests, OSCEs, workplace-based assessments, and professional portfolios. The role includes involvement in the design and delivery of assessments across the programme. All postholders will contribute to teaching across a range of formats, including large and small group teaching, case-based learning, and clinical and communication skills sessions, as well as supporting student electives and progression. In addition, successful candidates will provide academic support through group and one-to-one engagement, contribute to standard setting, assessment design, and OSCE examining, and support admissions processes. There will also be opportunities to deputise for Year Leads and contribute to curriculum development, assessment governance, and quality assurance activities. These roles are integral to the continued success and development of the programme, reporting ultimately to the Dean of the Medical School. These roles will be offered at either Lecturer A or B level depending on your experience (see job profiles below for further details). The full-time equivalent salary for Lecturer A starts from £37,694 and Lecturer B starts from £47,389 (pro rata for 0.5 FTE). There may be scope for the roles to be clinical academic positions with a salary up to £69,488 (pro rata for 0.5 FTE).
