Utsunomiya University is a Japanese public university set up in 1949 by integrating three institutions - Utsunomiya Agricultural and Forestry College, Tochigi Normal School and Tochigi Normal School for Youth. Utsunomiya is one of the best technological universities in Japan.

You can do an undergraduate degree within the Faculty of International Studies, the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Engineering (in Yoto Campus) or the Faculty of Agriculture.

Some of the university's best known research is in optics and weed science. One of its professors, Dr Yoneyama was awarded the international Thomson Reuters Research Front Award, which prizes achievements in emerging research areas, for having discovered a new class of plant hormones. Utsunomiya University’s research institutes include Center for Education and Research of Community Collaboration, Center for Weed and Wildlife Management, Media Network Center, Center for International Exchange, Collaboration Center for Research and Development, Center for Bioscience Research & Education(C-Bio), Center for Career Education and Services, Liberal and General Education Center, Center for Optical Research & Education (CORE), Center for Teacher Education, Center for the Multicultural Public Sphere(CMPS), Innovation Center for Research and Engineering Education, as well as a university farm and forest.

Description The Office of Global Education and its Community-based Global Learning (CBGL) Team at NYU Abu Dhabi invite applications for an Associate Academic Specialist - Community-based Global Learning position on a fixed-term, three-year contract. The Associate Academic Specialist will support faculty in designing community-based global learning activities for their semester, J-Term, and summer courses. The successful candidate will be responsible for instructional and academic-administrative support for courses featuring CBGL offered across the academic year. Principle Responsibilities Reviews syllabi to make recommendations for community-based global learning activities to faculty. Works on the development and finalization of CBGL activities during J-Term, summer, and regular semester programming Assists the faculty with instructional design of the activities and field work assignments  Identifies and cultivates experts and organizations in the UAE and the region who can serve as co-educators Conducts feasibility visits in the UAE to secure community partnership, inform instructional design, and assess risk/safety needs Organizes the logistics of the activities, including reservations, transportation, payments, permits, and health/safety management Facilitates students mobility including visa procurement, and purchasing of flight/train tickets as required.  Preparing the students and faculty for engagements in the UAE cultural and legal context through pre-departure orientations and cultural etiquette guidelines Organizing the Local Education Officers (LEO) program: selecting, training, and supervising student LEOs who assist the faculty member with implementing the CBGL activity  Supervises student assistantships Oversees and strategizes operational budget for stock taking, ordering, and management of gifts and other essentials for the office Supports the reporting for the CBGL Team Works collaboratively with NYUAD departments in the development of programs, working with established policy guidelines Develops programming materials such as presentation slides, reports, and handbooks Maintains the team Google Shared Drive and the Global Education shared drive Maintains a current overview of the literature on community-based learning, experiential learning, place-based learning, and discipline-specific fieldwork About NYU Abu Dhabi https://nyuad.nyu.edu/en/ NYU Abu Dhabi is the first comprehensive liberal arts and research campus in the Middle East to be operated abroad by a major American research university. Faculty Openings in the Accountancy Programme The Bachelor of Business (Honours) in Accountancy was one of the first three programmes conferred by SIT. The programme is accredited by Singapore’s national accountancy body, the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA), as well as several leading global accountancy professional bodies, including the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Uniquely, the programme is also recognised under the University Affiliation Programme by the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute. This three-year direct honours degree was developed through extensive consultations with industry leaders and accreditation bodies. Learners may choose to specialise in one of five accountancy domains: Applied Finance, Audit, Corporate Accounting, Management Accounting, and Taxation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on applied research projects in partnership with a local SME, contributing to innovative solutions in food and chemical engineering. This is a fixed term contract position. Job Responsibilities  Support research and development activities in waste recycling, pyrolysis reactor, in the area of chemical engineering, thermal systems, and mechanical engineering.  Conduct design and improvement of the existing pyrolysis system, Perform experiments, data analysis, and technical reporting.  Collaborate with academic staff, industry partners, and project stakeholders to achieve project objectives.  Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in all research activities.  T'o communicate with any relevant stakeholders to ensure project can be completed. Any other ad-hoc duties assigned. Expected qualities:  Serve as the process lead engineer in both design, engineering and testing of Pyrolysis Reactor Systems  Involve in developing the process control narrative  To generate project specifications, design philosophy, PFDs, P&IDs, calculations, operation manuals to comply with clients’ requirement  To carry out process simulations and develop heat and material balances  To carry out hydraulic design for pumps, compressors, blowers and develop respective process datasheets  To check design outputs, datasheets and drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness to design requirements and concepts  Involve in sizing the process instrument, pump and control philosophy  Experience in downstream gas cleaning processes with real experiences operating a plant  Knowledge in tar/PAH removal and separation  Prepare and deliver various engineering related presentations, both internally and externally  Support the R&D Team  Knowledge in skid module base and PLCs programming will be highly preferred  Possess good Solid-works skillset and/or ASPEN HYSYS/3D simulations expertise  Sound knowledge in applying AI into system applications  Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Thermal, Mechanical, Environmental or related disciplines).  Work experience in similar industries. Prior experience in waste recycling, pyrolysis, production of activated carbon, heat transfer, process design, process control would be an advantage.
