Dixie State University is a public university in Saint George, Utah, US, which was set up in 1911. Originally called Saint George Stake Academy and then the Dixie State College, it has been carrying its current name since 2013. 

Students can choose to study from 31 bachelor’s degrees, 17 associate’s degrees, 27 minors and 14 certificates, across the Colleges of Business and Communication, Education, Health Sciences, Humanities, Science and Technology and Arts.

Dixie State University student athletes compete in NCAA Division II. Students can join the basketball, swimming, tennis, baseball, football, golf, soccer, cheerleading and dance teams.

Its student life involves art clubs, academic clubs, student organizations, less traditional clubs, multicultural and diversity clubs, health science clubs, and athletic and recreation clubs. The Raging Red Show Choir, for instance, performs hip-hop, spiritual and Broadway music across Utah and sometimes even abroad - as it did at the 2010 World’s Fair in China. The Cox Auditorium provides celebrity concerts, dance and choir performances, Dixie's Got Talent events. Other on campus entertainment centres are the Eccles Theatre, Hansen Stadium and the Burns Arena, which is used for both basketball matches and concerts.

Every September, Dixie also hosts the Southern Utah International Documentary Film Festival DOCUTAH.

A few of Dixie’s outstanding alumni are founder and CEO of SkyWest Inc. Jerry Atkin, Gregory Prince, pathology researcher and Mormon historian and film writer, director and producer P. Alberto Sanchez.

The Department of Urban Planning and Design at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design (GSD) invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Professor of Urban Design with tenure from distinguished scholars and practitioners. We seek candidates whose record of research, scholarship, and/or professional practice is recognized by peers as constituting exemplary, innovative approaches that critically engage with key challenges facing cities, including sustainable spatial patterns, conflicts facing the public realm, transformations of work and living environments, and growing economic and social inequalities while integrating these challenges within an epistemology of urban-architectural design. In addressing these challenges, we are interested in candidates who are committed to interdisciplinary engagement in a school that hosts the fields of urban planning, landscape architecture, architecture, and real estate, as well as with schools within Harvard University at large. Candidates should demonstrate an ability to engage with a full range of urban design methods such as the deployment of digital platforms, new technologies including AI, and the latest innovations in spatial analysis and representation.
