Description of ACER-CoE: The Centre was established to address enduring process challenges in Chemistry and Engineering disciplines and create an environment for interdisciplinary research. The research program of ACER CoE is multidisciplinary, with faculty members from backgrounds in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and Environmental Engineering focusing on different research fields such as catalysis, separation, energy generation, conversion and storage, and organic optoelectronics intelligent and advanced polymers and materials. Job description: The successful candidate will: Undertake original research of international excellence. Prepare papers for publication in leading journals and/or contribute to the dissemination at national/international conferences, workshops and meetings. Communicate to the research projects team the development, progress and results of research activities. Develop collaborative links with the core scientific staff in related program areas to gain exposure and build knowledge on experimental/research activities and approaches, in order to improve conceptual development and implementation. Identify areas of improvement within the research structure using integrated management approaches in pursuit of capacity building/strengthening and the preservation of scientific rigor in research studies. Support if required, the development of proposals for research funding. Develop undergraduate courses, Master courses and modules. Support the appropriate equipment purchasing and ability to deal with international suppliers. Assist to the supervision of Ph.D. students and guide their research work. Candidate Profile: Due to the multidisciplinary character of ACER CoE, the ideal candidate must have as well a multidisciplinary scientific profile: PhD degree in Materials Science, Chemical Processes or another suitable engineering discipline. Sound background in Catalysis Experience in process engineering including one of these areas: urea synthesis, water splitting, ammonia synthesis or carbon capture. Knowledge in advanced structural characterizations will be valued. Familiar with risk assessment and safe working procedures in a chemical laboratory. Postdoctoral fellow Position in Omics and Soil Microbiome Research (2 years) The Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) invites applications for a Postdoctoral fellow position to join an interdisciplinary research project focused on metaproteomic analysis of soil microbial communities. This project aims to identify key genes and enzymes involved in mitigating salinity stress and improving soil health and crop productivity. These positions are part of a broader initiative to develop biofertilizers and sustainable agricultural strategies to combat soil degradation and salinization. Research will involve state-of-the-art metaproteomics, bioinformatics, and functional microbiome studies conducted in field trials, greenhouse experiments, and laboratory settings. This role will focus on the interactions between rhizosphere microbiota and plant roots, investigating how microbial enzymes enhance plant stress tolerance under salinity conditions. The successful candidate will: Conduct metaproteomic and genomic sequencing of microbial communities associated with plant roots. Identify microbial enzymes and functional pathways involved in nutrient acquisition and stress adaptation. Analyze plant-microbe interactions in response to salinity stress. Collaborate on biofertilizer development incorporating beneficial microbial enzymes. Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Advanced Magnetic and Electromagnetic Separation and Speciation of Metallic Minerals Benguerir-Jorf Lasfar The CBS department of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University is launching a call for applications for a post-doctoral fellowship specializing in magnetic/electromagnetic separation in solid and liquid matrices. Applicants should have a thorough understanding of the principles of magnetic separation and magnetic phenomena, as well as expertise in experimental methods to study the interactions between magnetic fields and solid and liquid materials. Additionally, knowledge of the physical and chemical properties of materials, particularly their magnetism, is required. The postdoctoral fellow will join the CBS-IGSAC department where they will be responsible for participating in the conduct of a research program on the valorization of phosphate by-products and its derivatives. The focus will be on developing and executing studies on magnetic/electromagnetic techniques for the separation, concentration, recovery, or destruction of certain elements. Therefore, the chosen candidate will be expected to contribute to the performance of a wide range of scale-up studies of a magnetic and electromagnetic separation process to validate the selection of the appropriate design for treating, concentrating, and purifying the matrices under investigation.
