Applications are now invited for the following posts: Part-time Lecturer Centre for English and Additional Languages (Post Ref.: 25/305) The Centre for English and Additional Languages (CEAL) offers a range of core and elective courses in addition to co-curricular language activities in order to enhance English language proficiency and critical thinking of students, as well as to provide language support to help students succeed in their academic studies. The Centre is looking for part-time Academic English Language Lecturers to teach Academic English language courses at the undergraduate level. Applicants should have: (i) experience in teaching English at the university level (preferably to students in Hong Kong); (ii) at least a master's degree in English Language and Literature or a relevant field (PhD preferred); (iii) an English language teaching certificate (preferred); (iv) preferred expertise and interests include: delivering a foundational core course that strengthens students’ English proficiency and the academic skills needed for success in an English-medium university; delivering a course that develops written synthesis of academic sources, critical evaluation of arguments, seminar discussion and debating skills, as well as creative and reflective practices essential at the tertiary level. Description The Center for Interacting Urban Networks, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Post-Doctoral Associate to support the project LANDMark on research on land economics, in any of the following areas: Measurement of land prices, with a focus on imputation techniques Land value determinants: public infrastructures (transport, health, and education services) Macroeconomic stability and instability in the presence of land as a fixed, non-produced asset Taxation of land wealth as an alternative to the consumption tax and the capital tax The political economy of land and its taxation Land, fixed resources, and political conflict The successful applicant will contribute to the research centered on any of these themes. The qualified candidate will have a Ph.D. in economics or another quantitative field with no more than five years from receipt of the degree, and an appetite for working on interdisciplinary teams. This position requires: Research experience in the mentioned areas of land (in a broad sense, including housing, macroeconomics, labor, urban, spatial economics, political economy, and conflict). Excellent communication skills in English. Associations and collaborative research funding projects with researchers in Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, and Political Science are encouraged.
