The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies or UPES is a private university located in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. Established in 2003, UPES was the first Indian university to offer courses in the energy sector and has since become a leading institution in the fields of petroleum, energy, and allied sectors.

As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on a research project, funded by Singapore Ministry of Education (MOE), where you will be part of the research team to develop a scalable and comprehensive framework for formal verification of quantum programs. The framework consists of the following deliverables: Intermediate Language. We plan to develop an intermediate language to model quantum programs. The intermediate language would be complete to describe all the desired characteristics of quantum computing while at the same time simple enough to be understood by most programmers. Formal Verification Framework. We plan to develop a comprehensive framework to verify the correctness of quantum programs written in the proposed intermediate language. Mechanization. We plan to mechanize the formal framework using state-of-the-art theorem provers such as Coq or Isabelle/HOL. Proof Automation. We plan to develop formal methods for automatic reasoning that can be materialized into commercial tools. Responsibilities Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI) and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. Undertake these responsibilities in the project: develop an intermediate language to write quantum programs. develop a comprehensive framework to verify the correctness of quantum programs written in our intermediate language. mechanize the verification framework using state-of-the-art theorem provers such as Coq or Isabelle/HOL. develop formal methods for automatic reasoning that can be materialized into commercial tools. Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations. Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers. Have a degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related areas. Possessing a Master degree will be advantageous. Description We are inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Associate in the Division of Social Science at NYU Abu Dhabi from individuals who have or will soon receive a PhD in Economics focusing on firm dynamics, structural transformation, economic growth, spatial economics. The appointment is for 3 years and will begin September 1, 2026, subject to final budget approval and UAE visa acquisition by the prospective post-doctoral candidate. The post-doctoral associate will spend half their time on independent research, and half their time on collaborative research with Professor Zheng Wang, Professor Samreen Malik, Professor Raul Santaeulalia-Llopis and Professor Wisam Alshaibi. The collaborative research will be on projects related to economic growth, structural transformation, and firm-level supply chains/business network formation in low-income countries (possibly, in conflict affected areas, CAF). We seek a candidate with expertise in both empirical and theoretical economics and strong coding skills. The role will involve designing surveys, working with existing datasets, and applying models of firm dynamics in settings of structural transformation and economic growth. We are interested in identifying spillovers of policy in this context, hence the emphasis in firm-level supply chains/business network formation and/or spatial economics. The position does not require teaching, but it may be possible to get teaching experience for compensation.
