Established by Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (“TWGHs”) in 2010, Tung Wah College (TWC) is a self-financing degree-granting institution registered under the Post Secondary Colleges Ordinance (Cap.320). Following the educational ideals of TWGHs and leveraging on its renowned strengths and expertise, TWC aims to provide high quality tertiary education to nurture competent, socially responsible and caring professionals for the benefits of society. With the staunch support of TWGHs, TWC has been developing rapidly and built up a niche in healthcare education. It is the first self-financing tertiary institution offering six professionally accredited degrees to train nurses and allied health professionals such as medical laboratory technologists, occupational therapists, diagnostic radiographer, therapeutic radiographer and physiotherapists. Besides, the College is also the first institution registered under Cap. 320 offering early childhood education degree and higher diploma programmes to train qualified kindergarten teachers and childcare professionals. Currently, TWC has 4 schools (namely School of Arts and Humanities, School of Management, School of Medical and Health Sciences, and School of Nursing) running a total of 20 doctoral degree, bachelor degree, sub-degree, diploma and certificate programmes in various disciplines. It has a student population of around 5,000 in 2025/2026 and nurtured more than 7,200 graduates since its inception in 2010. Being a young and vibrant institution, TWC aspires to become a leading private university in the long term. It is planning to launch a number of new programmes, strengthen teaching and learning facilities and quality, and enhance research capability etc. in coming years. To cope with its continuous development, we are now inviting highly qualified candidates to fill the following post: Professor (Research Track), School of Medical & Health Sciences (635) Tung Wah College is conducting a global search for a Professor (Research Track) in the School of Medical and Health Sciences to provide academic leadership and foster research excellence. We are seeking a dynamic and innovative candidate with a distinguished record in medical and health sciences, particularly those who leverage modern methodologies to advance the field. Responsibilities The ideal candidate will have a strong background in applying knowledge to advance education, professional practice, and innovative healthcare development. We welcome applicants with expertise in areas such as allied health, biomedical science, forensic Science, medical laboratory science, public health, neuroscience, or sports science. We are also especially interested in candidates who have strengths in Artificial Intelligence (AI), health data analytics, bioinformatics, or digital health for translational, multidisciplinary research. A proven ability to lead curriculum development, secure competitive grants for applied research, and foster strong community and clinical partnerships is highly desirable. Candidates should be highly self-motivated, be an excellent team player, and eager to contribute to a collaborative, practice-oriented academic setting. The successful candidate is expected to: Develop and lead high-impact applied and translational research projects that address real-world healthcare challenges; Secure and manage significant external research funding; Publish regularly in internationally recognized, high-impact journals while disseminating findings to the wider academic and professional community; Provide academic leadership in teaching, programme development, and professional accreditation; Mentor and supervise postgraduate research students and early-career researchers, fostering a dynamic, inclusive research culture; Actively build and maintain partnerships with local and international healthcare institutions, industry, and the community; Contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement of the School and College’s research agenda; Engage actively in professional organizations, representing the School in relevant academic, clinical, and community networks; and Perform any other duties as assigned. Requirements A doctoral degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Biomedical Science, Forensic, Medical Laboratory Science, Physiotherapy, Public Health, Sports Science, AI, Health Informatics, or a related field), preferably a PhD. Demonstrated substantial experience in leadership roles within the tertiary education sector or in professional organizations. A distinguished record of scholarly achievement commensurate with the rank of Professor. Extensive experience in tertiary education, including curriculum design, teaching, and programme management. A strong track record in applied, practice-based research and competitive grant acquisition. Documented experience in successful supervision of postgraduate students. Registration or eligibility for registration with the relevant professional body in Hong Kong (where applicable) is an advantage. About RoboPrecinct@PDD SmartPrecinct@PDD initiative aims to develop a precinct-scale robotics and embodied AI ecosystem at Punggol Digital District (PDD). The programme establishes shared digital infrastructure, regulatory frameworks (including cybersecurity and safety), embodied AI capabilities, industry collaborations, and real-world test-bedding environments to enable safe and scaled deployment of robots in PDD. The Business Development Manager will drive industry engagement and partnership development to attract companies to participate in robotics test-bedding and applied research collaborations. Key Responsibilities Industry engagement and partnership development Identify and engage robotics companies, technology providers, startups, and research partners to participate in the SmartPrecinct@PDD programme. Work closely with technical teams to identify industry use cases aligned with the SmartPrecinct infrastructure and capabilities. Support the development of joint projects between SIT and industry partners; prepare collaboration contracts/agreements and support the onboarding process for companies joining the SmartPrecinct ecosystem. Support reporting and documentation of industry partnerships and collaboration outcomes. Marketing and outreach Develop branding and marketing initiatives to promote SmartPrecinct and create industry outreach opportunities. Organise industry engagement activities such as workshops, industry forums, and networking events. Requirements Minimum Bachelor’s degree in engineering, robotics, AI, cybersecurity, business, or other related fields. Ideally 5+ years of relevant experience in business development, innovation partnerships, or technology ecosystem development. Strong networking and relationship-building capabilities. Experience working with government programmes or public-sector innovation initiatives is advantageous. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
