Located on the central northern coast of the State of Santa Catarina in Brazil, University of Vale do Itajaí was founded in 1964. One of the largest universities in the country, more than 70 courses are offered, including bachelor's degrees, undergraduate courses, master's degrees and PhDs. Courses on offer include: law, philosophy, medicine, dentistry and social sciences. It has campuses in seven towns: Itajaí, Balneário Camboriú, Balneário Piçarras, Biguaçu, Florianópolis, São José and Tijucas. To supplement studies in medicine, the university has a teaching hospital called the Pequeno Anjo University Hospital (HUPA). It has 93 beds and offers teaching, research and extension activities within the courses of medicine, nursing, pharmacy, psychology, dentistry, pedagogy and nutrition. There’s also a TV channel, radio station and Oceanographic Museum, which is located on the campus in Balneário Piçarras. It’s the largest oceanographic museum in the Americas and the third largest in the world of its kind. It covers the formation of the oceans, the evolution of living beings, the history of oceanography, the living and mineral resources of the oceans and the preservation of the marine environment. It has the largest collection of marine animals in Brazil, as well as the largest collection of shells in Latin America. The university has access to several scholarship and government funding programmes that allow a large proportion of its students to have access to some type of benefit.

About the Project Coordinator Role (HEO6) The Project Coordinator will undertake research support in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Public Health under general to broad direction of the Chief Investigators. Working within the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Public Health Research Team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to project coordination and implementation, stakeholder engagement, the collection of data and the dissemination of findings. A snapshot of diverse tasks and duties for this position are listed below: Deliver against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Public Health Research Team’s project outcomes and milestones. Managing calendars and event scheduling, taking meeting notes and actions, and making bookings including venue hire and catering. Contributing to confidential and ethical data management for designated projects. Assisting the Project Research Team with the preparation and submission of ethics applications (including AHREC and SA Health sites). Establishing and maintaining collaborations within the University, and at State, national and international levels to improve research outputs, patents and publications. About You You are an established Project Coordinator or Project Management professional who is passionate about providing project operational support in a Research Team environment, and is keen to apply your skillset in an area where it matters most; supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Public Health research. You have outstanding consultation and interpersonal skills, allowing you to communicate your ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders in both written and oral modes. You will also be able to demonstrate the following: Completion of a degree with subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and/or specialist expertise or broad knowledge in public health; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education and/or training in public health or a related field. About the Research Associate Role (Level A) As the Research Associate in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Public Health Research, you will work with the Research Team and contribute to project design and implementation, the collection and analysis of data, and the preparation of manuscripts for publication. You will also have the opportunity to actively report on new and current research related to the research program through the generation of high-quality publications and conference presentations. In addition, the Research Associate will contribute to the preparation of applications for externally funded research funding. You will have the opportunity to play a leading role in the following areas: Leading allocated projects by collaborating with the Project Research Team to deliver project milestones and KPI’s, by successfully coordinating, planning and executing project tasks. Contribute to the planning and execution of research by offering new ideas, reviewing relevant literature and other sources of information, actively participating in the collection and analysis of data and attending seminars, meetings and conferences. Contributing to and collaborating with industry partners, stakeholder engagement, and participant recruitment and communication. Clinical Administration Participation in quality, safety and clinical risk management activities Contributing to clinical review programs to monitor standards of practice and ensure the maintenance of quality outcomes To be successful you will need: Registration as a medical practitioner and specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist with AHPRA FRANZCOG (or equivalent) Experience in conducting high quality research in a recognised area of strength within the Discipline of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Experience in leading a grant-funded research program in a domain relevant to Obstetrics & Gynaecology evidenced by success in obtaining major national and other grant funds, a strong publication record in high-impact journals, international and national research collaborations, and invited national and international conference presentations Evidence of effective research training, including experience and success in supervision of Honours and postgraduate students.
