Ulster University is a multi-campus university with three distinct campuses across Northern Ireland - Belfast, Coleraine and Derry ~ Londonderry, as well as Jordanstown Sports Village. Courses are also delivered at branch campuses in London and Birmingham.
Comprising four faculties, the university is home to over 30,000 students including students from over 70 countries.
In the 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF), Ulster University now ranks in the top 10 per cent of UK universities for outstanding (4*) or very considerable (3*) research impact.
The university also has strong links with business and industry and courses are structured to allow students to combines their studies with vocational work placements.
Its main Belfast campus constitutes one of Northern Ireland's largest urban developments.
Although traditionally associated with art, the Belfast campus has expanded to include subjects such as architecture, event management, Irish language, photography and digital animation. It also plays host to frequent fashion shows, art exhibitions and other cultural events across its 75,000sqm estate.
Ulster University is a leading university for sport in Ireland and the UK, with its Sports Village located seven miles north of Belfast city centre at Jordanstown, providing a home to the Sports Institute of Northern Ireland where leading athletes train.
The course provision at UU’s Coleraine campus is broad, encompassing biomedical sciences, business, the humanities, computing, film and journalism, among others.
The campus sits on the banks of the river Bann, less than a mile from the centre of Coleraine - the largest and busiest town on the Causeway Coast - offering easy access to the nearby beaches of Portrush and Portstewart, as well as the Giant's Causeway World Heritage Site. On campus, the Riverside Theatre - the third largest professional theatre in Northern Ireland - is a main attraction.
The Derry~Londonderry campus is another main sports centre comprising a fitness suite and floodlit pitches. The nearby River Foyle and town of Donegal offer a range of outdoor activities including sailing, rowing, canoeing, hill walking and climbing.
The Derry~Londonderry campus is also home to the School of Medicine which offers Graduate Entry Medicine.

Description The Clinical Artificial Intelligence Lab at NYU Abu Dhabi seeks to improve patient care by developing new machine learning methodologies that tackle unique computational problems in healthcare applications. We use large real-world complex datasets, including data extracted from electronic health records and medical images, for applications pertaining to patient diagnostics and prognostics. We are seeking a Research Assistant to join the team and make significant contributions to the field. The researcher is expected to have (i) strong machine learning skills to improve model performance and robustness, and (ii) exemplary passion and motivation to pursue multidisciplinary research at the intersection of computing and healthcare. As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on a research project, funded by Singapore Ministry of Education (MOE), where you will be part of the research team to develop a scalable and comprehensive framework for formal verification of quantum programs. The framework consists of the following deliverables: Intermediate Language. We plan to develop an intermediate language to model quantum programs. The intermediate language would be complete to describe all the desired characteristics of quantum computing while at the same time simple enough to be understood by most programmers. Formal Verification Framework. We plan to develop a comprehensive framework to verify the correctness of quantum programs written in the proposed intermediate language. Mechanization. We plan to mechanize the formal framework using state-of-the-art theorem provers such as Coq or Isabelle/HOL. Proof Automation. We plan to develop formal methods for automatic reasoning that can be materialized into commercial tools. About the role This role is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the professional services leadership of our EPSRC-funded King’s Health Partners Digital Health Hub (KHP DHH) as the Training Manager. The training component of this Hub focuses on identifying and delivering the skills needed to train problem solvers who address real-life challenges at the healthcare–industry interface. The goal is to support the development of proactive individuals who can use relevant data and technologies to tackle real problems in digital health. Digital innovators and the healthcare workforce work together in a multi-disciplinary environment to develop safe and scalable solutions. The training arm of the Hub works collaboratively with the other Hub arms, including AI training, co-design strategies, entrepreneurship, industrial partner engagement, Patient and Public Involvement & Engagement (PPIE), digital health innovation, and the research pilots embedded in the Hub. The four core pillars are Training, Co-design, Translation & Acceleration. Organised and delivery-focused, you will join an established team and bring experience in gathering, interpreting, and presenting data to demonstrate impact. Experience of matrix working would be beneficial, as the programme facilitates collaborative efforts to identify and overcome barriers to effective integration and translation across disciplines. You will work closely with subject matter experts and the learning technologist to maintain and enhance existing asynchronous training resources, as well as create new engaging materials for a range of audiences in digital health. The role also supports the delivery of in-person training, from advertising and bursary coordination to post-course feedback collection. The Centre for Digital Enablement (CoDE) drives the initiatives to elevate digital competencies for academic staff and students within SIT. For this role, you will spearhead the various cybersecurity enablement programmes in SIT, manage the cybersecurity related resources and initiatives within CoDE, and lead cybersecurity projects within SIT and with industry partners to support teaching and learning objectives. We are seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow in Coral Reef Restoration to join School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, Faculty of Science. The Postdoctoral Fellow in Coral Reef Restoration will join an international and collaborative team of scientists and coral reef restoration practitioners contributing to the Coral Research & Development Accelerator Program (CORDAP) Project on enhancing substrate availability to accelerate reef recovery using novel underwater bioadhesives. The project addresses the challenge to reef recovery which is hindered by poor substrate quality or limited substrate availability. Our novel solution to this ever-accelerating problem is Underwater Bioadhesives that can be integrated into modern reef restoration strategies. Here we will use bioadhesive materials to strengthen substrates for coral settlement, stabilize reef slopes by binding loose rubble, and attach coral fragments as an alternative to concrete and chemical glues.
