Basic information and contact details for the University of Turkish Aeronautical Association

institution

The University of Turkish Aeronautical Association is the first and only university in Turkey specialising in aviation and aerospace.

The Aviation Foundation of the Turkish Aeronautical Association founded the university in 2011. This association has been involved in aeronautics and astronautics since 1925. It has shared its experience and knowledge in these fields with the university since it opened.

It is a multi-campus university with campuses located in Ankara, Turkey’s capital, and Selcuk, a small town in western Turkey. The campuses are Etimesgut, Akkopru, and Izmir-Selcuk. The university is able to provide aeronautical practices such as mutual training flights, due to this multi-campus environment.

With state-of-the-art facilities the university offers students high quality experiences as part of their studies. It has Turkey’s biggest squadron for aviation training with its 77 hi-tech planes. It also has two airports, six full capacity aerodromes, which are used as training laboratories, and two operating towers fitted with specialist equipment.

The university has partnerships with qualified experts in the field of aeronautics to ensure that its students are given the correct training. This has strengthened the university’s ties with the private sector. As a result, it is becoming more accessible for graduates to successfully get a job in the aeronautics field.

In terms of academic partnerships, the university has ties with the Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology located in New York City. The two universities work together throughout the academic year, exchanging faculty members and students, as part of a study abroad programme, and collaborating on research projects.
