The School In line with the USP Strategic Plan for innovative, industry-focused education and training, the disciplines within the School of Law and Social Sciences (SoLaSS) are undertaking a dynamic phase of programme review and development. Specific Duties An Assistant Lecturer / Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Clinical Psychology will drive course and curriculum development and deliver impactful teaching, research, and supervision for undergraduate and postgraduate Psychology students in the Pacific. The role calls for significant adaptability, particularly in courses requiring the supervision of clinically based students, given the absence of high-end mental health facilities and dedicated funding agencies in the region. You will build quality postgraduate clinical psychology training materials and activities, and develop collaborative partnerships with external stakeholders, including government agencies and development partners working in health and mental health. Position Description and Selection Criteria: PD&PEWER_Academic AB_Postdoctoral_Research Fellow.pdf The Position The Postdoctoral Researcher (Level A) or Research Fellow (Level B) will undertake independent research in the area of nuclear reactions, particularly heavy-ion fusion and few- and multi-nucleon transfer, including assisting in the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students. They will publish original and innovative results in refereed journals, present research at national and international conferences, and collaborate with other researchers at a national and international level. They will collaborate with senior staff to actively seek and secure external funding, and prepare and submit research proposals to external funding bodies as appropriate, and contribute to teaching activities of the Research School of Physics. The Person The ideal candidate will hold a PhD (or be near completion) in physics or a related field, with demonstrated research expertise in experimental nuclear physics. They will have a strong record of publications, ideally in nuclear reactions research, and experience in laboratory experimentation and multiparameter data analysis. The candidate will be capable of developing innovative research ideas, contributing to collaborative projects, and supporting funding applications. The School/Department The Research School of Physics is a leading centre of physics research and education in Australia. Description Jaime Napier’s Lab at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is seeking a Post-Doctoral Associate to conduct globally-conscious research on gender-related attitudes, gender stereotypes, and/or attitudes and beliefs about sexual orientation. Terms of employment include competitive salary and benefits. Research in our lab focuses on the social and psychological antecedents and consequences of inequality, broadly defined. The ideal candidate for the current position will have a strong background in research on gender and sexual orientation. Some potential projects include: (1) understanding backlash against gender equality and queer rights; (2) understanding the content and structure of gender stereotypes and their consequences; and (3) examining patterns of gender-related attitudes over time and cross-nationally. The position entails involvement in all stages of research, including (but not limited to) study design, data collection, data analysis, manuscript preparation. Candidates must hold a PhD in social psychology or a closely related field, with no more than five years post receipt of the PhD, be competent in research design and advanced statistical analyses, and have strong writing and communication skills.
