Job Title: Postdoctoral positions Job description: The Chemical & Biochemical Sciences department (CBS) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University is currently offering an opportunity for a full-time Postdoc in the field of applied microbiology and Bioprocess. We are currently looking for highly motivated candidates with a strong background in biochemistry, bioprocessing, and applied microbiology. Additionally, candidates should be knowledgeable in molecular biology and chemical analysis. Proficiency in biostatistics is very desirable. The postdoctoral fellow will play an integral role within our dynamic, multidisciplinary team dedicated to waste valorization and the production of high-value compounds. To qualify for this position, candidates should have a Ph.D degree in a related discipline, and a track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals. The selected candidate will work closely with our team of researchers, doctoral and master's students, as well as technicians, contributing to cutting-edge research in our department. Main Responsibilities: The Postdoctoral Fellows will collaborate with the research team to plan, execute, and analyze research activities and experiments, therefore, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in their field. They will prepare detailed technical reports summarizing techniques and methodologies, results, and conclusions. Additionally, they will mentor and supervise both graduate and undergraduate students, aiding in their academic and research progress. Furthermore, they will publish research findings in high-impact peer-reviewed journals, sharing knowledge to the global scientific community. Criteria of the candidate: To be considered for this position, candidates should meet the following criteria: Recent PhD: Hold a Ph.D. earned within the last five years in Microbiology, Bioprocess, Environmental Biotechnology, or a related field, demonstrating a commitment to cutting-edge research. Expertise: Possess a strong academic background in applied microbiology, Phycology, and Biochemistry, highlighting your knowledge and skills in these disciplines. Analytical Proficiency: Demonstrate proficiency in biostatistics, and physicochemical and analytical methods. The research program of ACER CoE is multidisciplinary, with faculty members from backgrounds in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and Environmental Engineering focusing on different research fields such as catalysis, separation, energy generation, conversion and storage, and organic optoelectronics intelligent and advanced polymers and materials. Job description: The successful candidate will: Undertake original research of international excellence. Prepare papers for publication in leading journals and/or contribute to the dissemination at national/international conferences, workshops and meetings. Communicate to the research projects team the development, progress and results of research activities. Develop collaborative links with the core scientific staff in related program areas to gain exposure and build knowledge on experimental/research activities and approaches, in order to improve conceptual development and implementation. Identify areas of improvement within the research structure using integrated management approaches in pursuit of capacity building/strengthening and the preservation of scientific rigor in research studies. Support if required, the development of proposals for research funding. Develop undergraduate courses, Master courses and modules. Support the appropriate equipment purchasing and ability to deal with international suppliers. Assist to the supervision of Ph.D. students and guide their research work. Candidate Profile: Due to the multidisciplinary character of ACER CoE, the ideal candidate must have as well a multidisciplinary scientific profile: PhD degree in Materials Science, Chemical Processes or another suitable engineering discipline. Sound background in Catalysis Experience in process engineering including one of these areas: urea synthesis, water splitting, ammonia synthesis or carbon capture. Knowledge in advanced structural characterizations will be valued. Familiar with risk assessment and safe working procedures in a chemical laboratory. Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Advanced Magnetic and Electromagnetic Separation and Speciation of Metallic Minerals Benguerir-Jorf Lasfar The CBS department of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University is launching a call for applications for a post-doctoral fellowship specializing in magnetic/electromagnetic separation in solid and liquid matrices. Applicants should have a thorough understanding of the principles of magnetic separation and magnetic phenomena, as well as expertise in experimental methods to study the interactions between magnetic fields and solid and liquid materials. Additionally, knowledge of the physical and chemical properties of materials, particularly their magnetism, is required. The postdoctoral fellow will join the CBS-IGSAC department where they will be responsible for participating in the conduct of a research program on the valorization of phosphate by-products and its derivatives. The focus will be on developing and executing studies on magnetic/electromagnetic techniques for the separation, concentration, recovery, or destruction of certain elements. Therefore, the chosen candidate will be expected to contribute to the performance of a wide range of scale-up studies of a magnetic and electromagnetic separation process to validate the selection of the appropriate design for treating, concentrating, and purifying the matrices under investigation. Job Description: The position is open to candidates with a PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline from a recognized university. Applicants must demonstrate that their doctoral work and previous experience are related to one or more aspects of magnetic separation, particularly in the context of mineral processing or environmental applications. Candidates with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply: Experience in the separation/purification of industrial effluents, particularly with electromagnetic/magnetic technologies. About the Chemical & Biochemical Sciences Green Process Engineering (CBS) The Chemical & Biochemical Sciences Green Process Engineering Department (CBS) is a component of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P). The main objective of CBS is to set up a distinctive research-teaching program, of international level, to meet the research and teaching challenges of UM6P, on green and environmental chemistry applied to all aspects of chemical sciences: organic and inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, chemical biology, biochemical and thermal reactions.
