Reporting to the Head of School (MNM) and the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer (Monash Health), you will provide strategic and research leadership to bridge the gap between academic excellence and clinical practice. This role is pivotal in positioning both organisations for the future by progressing innovative research programs and community engagement. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for: Leading world-class collaborative research that informs clinical practice and improves the quality and safety of patient care. Securing external research funding from traditional and innovative sources to sustain high-impact programs. Mentoring and supervising research staff and Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students to foster the next generation of healthcare leaders. Providing academic leadership in curriculum development and high-quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Strengthening partnerships between Monash University, Monash Health, and international agencies to enhance the global profile of the nursing and midwifery professions. Essential Qualifications and Skills: A doctoral qualification (PhD) and recognition as a leading authority in nursing or midwifery. Current registration as a Registered Nurse or Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA). An outstanding scholarly research and publication record and a proven track record of generating significant research income. Demonstrated experience in interdisciplinary collaboration and the ability to lead complex clinical or academic teams. Demonstrated experience managing high-level partnerships between academic and healthcare organisations. Deep familiarity with the Australian health care system and professional standards.
