The University of Rizal System is a state university in the Philippines established in 2001. It was formed through the integration of several higher education institutions, including Rizal State College, Rizal Polytechnic College, and the Rizal Technological University-Antipolo Annex. The university was created to unify public higher education provision in Rizal province and to support regional development through academic study, research, extension, and production services.
It operates a multi-campus system across Rizal province, with its main campus in Tanay, and additional ones in Morong, Binangonan, Angono, Cainta, Antipolo, Taytay, Rodriguez, Pililla, and Cardona.
It offers a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and short-term programmes across a broad range of subject areas. Key fields include teacher education, engineering and technology, agriculture and forestry, business administration and accountancy, computer studies and information technology, hospitality management and tourism, arts and sciences, criminology, and public administration. Graduate study includes master’s and doctoral programmes in education, public administration, and agriculture.
The university’s mandate extends beyond teaching to include community outreach and extension, with a strong focus on agriculture, education, environmental management, and community development. It delivers livelihood training and structured extension programmes through its Extension Services Unit, often implemented in partnership with local government units.
