The University of Prishtina, established in 1969, is located in Prishtina, the capital and largest city of Kosovo. Prishtina has a rich history dating back to the Dardanian Kingdom and is known today for its vibrant café culture and welcoming atmosphere. The city offers a plethora of activities, from visiting museums to savouring traditional Kosovan cuisine.
The university comprises fourteen faculties, including philosophy, mathematics and natural sciences, philology, law, economics, civil engineering and architecture, electrical and computer engineering, mechanical engineering, medicine, arts, agriculture and veterinary medicine, sports sciences, education, and architecture. Each faculty houses various departments offering a wide range of undergraduate and graduate degree programmes.
As part of the global education community, the University of Prishtina is dedicated to establishing partnerships with higher education institutions worldwide to facilitate academic and scientific exchanges. Description We are inviting applications for a Post-Doctoral Associate in the Division of Social Science at NYU Abu Dhabi from individuals who have or will soon receive a PhD in demography, epidemiology, public health, or a related discipline in the social sciences. The appointment will begin September 1, 2026, subject to final budget approval and is available for up to three years. The post-doctoral associate will spend half their time on independent research, and half their time on collaborative research with Professor Stéphane Helleringer. The collaborative research will be on population health and its determinants in low-and-middle-income countries, with an emphasis on measurement issues and the impact of crises such as epidemics and disasters. The job entails conducting high-quality research on population health and its determinants in low-and-middle-income countries. This includes conceptualizing research questions, designing empirical studies, collecting or acquiring new data sets, and analyzing these data using advanced statistical models and visualization techniques. The job also emphasizes the dissemination of knowledge about population health, particularly through the preparation of peer-reviewed manuscripts, software packages and/or participation in international conferences. Candidates must hold a PhD in demography, epidemiology, public health or related discipline in the social sciences. The ideal candidate is preferred to have prior experience with data collection and collaboration in low-and-middle-income countries and good knowledge of R or other software for data management, analysis and visualization. The position does not require teaching, but it may be possible to get teaching experience for compensation. You would join a group of over 20 post-doctoral fellows and 70 faculty in the Division of Social Science. Description The Robotics and Intelligent Systems Control Laboratory (RISC) at New York University Abu Dhabi invites applicants to apply for the open Post-doctoral Associate position to perform primarily research on Reinforcement Learning, and/or Optimal Control, and/or Model Predictive Control.
