We have a commitment to research excellence and knowledge sharing. We broker and facilitate research exchange between University of Sydney researchers and their outside interlocuters via visiting fellowships, exchanges and a range of in-house initiatives designed to build authentic research partnerships that will grow and change to meet the demands of the future. We are seeking a Community Engagement and Programs Officer, specialising in research translation and strategic communication, to join the Centre and collaborate across the Faculty to amplify the Centre’s research impact. In this role, you will shape how the Centre communicates its evidence, insights, and achievements. Working closely with Centre members, University communications teams, and external partners, you will craft clear, compelling, and accessible narratives that promotes the centre’s research and programs. Key responsibilities will be to work with academics, research partners and colleagues across the University to: track and report on the Centre’s work and support continuous improvement in how evidence is communicated and applied support centre researchers in communicating their research via the centre website, social media, white papers and other outputs coordinate activities designed to engage a diverse range of audiences including workshops and events produce targeted materials to engage internal audiences, industry, and general publics. About you We are looking for Community Engagement & Programs Officer (Communication and Research Translation) who has: tertiary qualification in communications, or professional experience in research translation and commercialisation demonstrated experience translating academic research into clear and compelling narratives experience working in a start-up or related environment is highly desirable excellent writing, editorial and communication skills across multiple formats strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build productive relationships with academics, industry partners, government and community organisations demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and fast-moving deadlines, with strong organisational and time management skills experience producing high-quality written and digital content such as reports, briefs, workplace tools, web content or multimedia materials a proactive, problem-solving mindset, with a demonstrated ability to identify opportunities to increase the reach and impact of evidence and insights. The SIT x NVIDIA AI Centre (SNAIC) is seeking a business-driven professional to lead industry partnerships and growth initiatives that expand the Centre’s commercial and strategic footprint. The role is responsible for identifying high-value collaboration opportunities, shaping business models for applied AI projects, and securing funding or co-development commitments that contribute to SNAIC’s long-term sustainability. Working at the intersection of technology and business, this role acts as SNAIC’s front-facing dealmaker, translating market demand, ecosystem signals, and AI innovation into viable partnerships across areas such as Generative AI, Large Language Models, Computer Vision, Digital Twins, and Multimodal AI. Success in this role requires strong commercial instincts, the ability to engage both technical and executive stakeholders, and the discipline to drive opportunities from early exploration through signed agreements and delivery. Key Responsibilities  1. Industry Engagement & Business Development Identify, qualify, and engage potential industry, government, and ecosystem partners for applied AI collaboration opportunities. Drive the deal process from initial discussion through to agreement. Manage active partnership accounts and track delivery milestones to ensure commitments, timelines, and outputs are met. 2. Marketing, Outreach & Positioning Contribute to industry events, workshops, showcases, and demos that strengthen SNAIC’s visibility and lead generation. Support development of partnership assets such as case studies, pitch decks, project proposals, and success stories. Work with internal teams to amplify SNAIC’s applied AI capabilities to targeted sectors and communities. 3. Data, Reporting & Pipeline Management Maintain an up-to-date CRM pipeline of leads, partners, proposals, and project statuses. Generate periodic dashboards and management reports on engagement performance, deal progress, and partnership outcomes. Ensure data accuracy and traceability across all stages of the partnership lifecycle. Job Requirement  Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Data/AI, or a related field. 2–5 years of experience in business development, partnerships, innovation projects, or roles involving both technical and commercial stakeholders. Comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ideally in a cross-functional environment. Working understanding of AI concepts, use cases, and industry trends, with interest in areas such as Generative AI, LLMs, Computer Vision, or Digital Twins. Exposure to NVIDIA’s AI ecosystem (e.g., Omniverse, CUDA, DGX, NGC) is a plus, but not required. Strong communication and relationship management skills, able to engage industry partners and internal stakeholders confidently. Good writing and presentation abilities for proposals, pitch decks, and briefing materials. Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple partnership pipelines, timelines, and reporting needs. Comfortable using CRM tools, dashboards, or project tracking systems. Key Competencies Understanding of AI and emerging technologies. The Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Helsinki invites applications for the position of INFORMATION SYSTEMS SPECIALIST for a fixed-term appointment from 11 May, 2026 to 31 March, 2027, or as agreed. We seek an information systems specialist to join the ReliaCode project at the University of Helsinki. Our aim is to make LLMs usable in organisational settings with high reliability requirements, especially for reasoning about complex document collections. We’re building methods to make it easier to tell when LLM outputs can’t be trusted, and to improve systems efficiently from limited human feedback. The work is part of an early-stage initiative based in a university environment, with secured funding and a strong focus on real-world impact through pilot collaborations with organizations. The goal is to iteratively develop a product that could evolve either into a general-purpose platform for unstructured data processing or a focused solution in a specific domain. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of research and product, and to help shape the technical direction of a potential startup from the ground up. We are offering a year-long full-time contract with the possibility of continuing afterwards in a potential spin-out company. We are particularly looking for candidates with: Strong Python and software engineering skills Hands-on experience using LLMs in applications, especially with multiple model calls and high reliability requirements Experience evaluating LLM systems, including designing benchmarks and using evaluation signals to identify failures and improve system performance Familiarity with practical ML approaches for ranking or classification with noisy or limited signals Comfort working independently in an early-stage project and taking ownership of open-ended problems The following are seen as advanteges but not necessary: Experience working with unstructured data sources (e.g. documents, long-form text) Familiarity with machine learning or NLP, particularly in areas such as information extraction or human-in-the-loop systems Some experience building and maintaining applications used by others  Familiarity with standard software engineering practices (e.g. version control, code review, testing, iterative development) What we offer The University of Helsinki is an equal opportunity employer and offers an attractive and diverse workplace with a variety of development opportunities and benefits.
