For the Senior Research Assistant post, applicants may alternatively possess a Master’s degree in a related discipline accompanied by at least three years of project management experience. About the Role We are seeking an outstanding academic to join our Department of Psychological Sciences as a Lecturer (Level B), Senior Lecturer (Level C), or Associate Professor (Level D) to contribute and provide academic and professional leadership across Swinburne’s psychology programs, with a particular focus on advancing high-quality teaching, professional training, and research within the Master of Psychology (Educational and Developmental Psychology) and other postgraduate psychology courses. In this role, you will contribute to or lead excellence in teaching through evidence-based pedagogy; curriculum innovation; clinical supervision; and the ongoing development and delivery of the Master of Psychology (Educational and Developmental Psychology). You will contribute to internal and external accreditation processes and support staff capability building, promote high-quality and consistent learning experiences for students, and contribute to Departmental and School initiatives and strategic priorities. As a Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, or Associate Professor, you will also be expected to contribute to and/or lead an innovative and impactful research program. This will include producing high-quality scholarly outputs, supervising HDR students and developing and managing industry partnerships that strengthen the Department’s and School’s research profile. SCHOOL OF CHINESE MEDICINE TEACHING AND RESEARCH DIVISION Assistant Professor / Associate Professor (25260733) The School of Chinese Medicine (SCM) was established in 1999 and offers comprehensive education programmes in Chinese medicine, including both undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy in Chinese Medicine.  The School is engaged in a wide range of research projects, provides Chinese medicine healthcare services to the community, and seeks to foster modernisation of the Chinese medicine profession. To consolidate the strengths of innovative research, the School has established high quality theme-based Research Centres equipped with advanced equipment and facilities. The highlighted strategic research areas in the School include (1) Precision medicine and phenomics study; (2) Translational medicine and innovative drug discovery; and (3) Authentication and testing of Chinese medicines. To strengthen research capacity and advance existing research disciplines in SCM through computer science and AI, we would like to recruit a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor / Associate Professor in AI, Bioinformatics and/or Computational drug discovery in partnership with the Department of Computer Science on collaborative research to drive breakthroughs in AI and modern Chinese medicine including new drug discovery. The successful candidate will be considered for a joint appointment between SCM (home unit) and the Department of Computer Science (CS) at the level of joint appointment, ranging from 0% affiliated appointment to 49% in CS, subject to the candidate’s academic qualifications and experiences. We are looking for candidates in a related area(s) as follows: Bioinformatics Biostatistics Computational drug discovery Translational research Responsibilities: Teach both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in SCM and the Department of Computer Science; Establish a vigorous research program in the relevant areas; and  Develop research clusters through collaborations. Requirements: Hold a PhD in a related field(s) (e.g. Computer Science / AI); Have relevant postdoctoral training and demonstrate a strong track record in a related field(s); and Candidate with a strong record of securing external grants, outstanding publications, and demonstrated potential for research leadership in clinical or translational research will be a great advantage. This is a tenure-track position with an initial appointment on a fixed-term contract of up to three years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement. Tenured appointment is expected to be attained within six years. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
