Job Description FACULTY OF ARTS AND SOCIAL SCIENCES ACADEMY OF WELLNESS AND HUMAN DEVELOPMENT Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor in Social Work (25260796) The Academy is dedicated to developing high-quality research that addresses social problems, and to engage in evidence-based research to inform macro and micro practice in social work and counselling. As a training institution, the Academy is committed to delivering high-quality education and training in social work, social policy and counselling and in related disciplines at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The prospective scholars are encouraged to participate and contribute by means of research, training and consultation to the professional community in Hong Kong. The appointee is expected to conduct cutting-edge academic research, contribute to academic programme development and assume high-level service and administrative responsibilities. We are looking for outstanding candidates who can complement or add to our existing strengths in social gerontology, healthy aging, life course, mental health; application of innovative approaches in practice; smart society and wellbeing; and macro practice. Candidates who have expertise in one or more of the above areas are encouraged to apply to contribute to the advancement of the Academy/Faculty. Applicants should possess a relevant doctoral degree, a proven track record of impactful research and tertiary teaching experience. They should also have substantial publication record in international refereed journals consistent with the candidate’s academic rank, evidence of potential for securing research funding, and demonstrate strong abilities in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate level and graduate research mentoring.  This is a tenure-track position with initial appointment on a fixed-term contract of two to three years commencing January 2027. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance. Tenured appointment is expected to be attained within six years.  Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The Role and the Department Research and Innovation Services (RIS) provides guidance, expert advice and hands-on support for all aspects of research and research-related work, including securing funding, working with partners, undertaking knowledge exchange, demonstrating impact, commercialising outputs, ensuring good research practice and supporting professional development. This post sits within the Policy, Systems and Performance team in Research & Innovation Services (RIS). The team is responsible for the University's research information management systems, the overall governance and ethical framework for both funded and unfunded research & research related activities across the institution, support for institutional strategy development and the compilation of relevant returns including HEBCI, KEF, KEC and REF , as well as management information reporting relating to university research and knowledge exchange (RKE) activities. As Research Systems and Information Officer you will contribute to the implementation and development of the RIS RKE systems as well as training and communications about these systems across the University. Current research systems include Worktribe Research Management, Infonetica Ethics RM, and Dynamics CRM. You will contribute to ensuring our research systems are configured in the most optimal and user-friendly way and that any associated training and communications will be delivered in a clear, concise and timely manner. You will analyse research data and develop and present reports to key stakeholders You will report to the Senior Manager - Research Systems and Reporting but will work closely with colleagues across the Research and Innovation Services Directorate as well as colleagues in faculties, departments and across professional support services. It is essential that as Research Systems and Information Officer you are highly organised and pay close attention to detail. The capability to prioritise and manage a busy and varied workload is crucial. The ability to work across business-as-usual activities and multiple concurrent projects at different stages of development is essential. This role is suitable for hybrid working. The base location for this role is Boldon House, our exciting new professional services hub.Boldon House is situated on the outskirts of Durham near the Arnison Centre in Pity Me. The Role As a Lifeguard, you will play an important role within a motivated and professional Southampton Sport team, helping to ensure the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of our facilities. About You We are looking for professional, motivated, and proactive individuals who thrive as part of a team. Strong customer service skills are essential, as you will often be the first point of contact for customers and will support a wide variety of situations in a professional manner. A current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) is essential, although applications from candidates currently working towards the qualification will also be considered.
