We believe innovation is a way of thinking and that everyone has the potential to change things, big or small, for the better. We recently launched the Michael Crouch Innovation Centre. The first for any Australian university, the MCIC is where students from all faculties can design, experiment and build their ideas with guidance from visionaries and corporate partners. The UNSW Innovations team is on hand to assist students turn their ideas into commercial reality through their 260 partnerships with commercial companies.
We are connected to over 200 partner universities in 35 countries. We are a member of the Group of Eight (Go8) in Australia, the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU), Universitas 21 (U21), and the Global Alliance of Technological Universities (GlobalTech) where we were the only Australian university selected to join. This network contributes to a steady flow of students, researchers and academics on campus, creating a truly global learning environment.
Support for international students
As one of the first Australian universities to take international students in 1951, we take pride in them. Our staff support international students from the time they land until well into their working careers. We have dedicated staff and events to help students progress their career thinking, network with companies, make new friends and adapt to student life in Australia.
Our campuses have everything you need so you can maximise your time studying and socialising. There are quiet spaces, open spaces, cafes, restaurants, bars, fitness and aquatic facilities, libraries and an IGA supermarket. Choose from over 250 student-led clubs and social societies or join our student-run association, Arc. An interfaith religious centre is available to all UNSW students.
