Work that matters The Data Manager plays a central role in establishing, delivering, and maintaining the integrity of a national research monitoring program focused on early type 1 diabetes. The role is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing fit-for-purpose data systems and registries that supports multi-centre clinical and research activity across Australia, ensuring data quality, security, interoperability, and usability for reporting, evaluation, and research outcomes. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across institutions to ensure that data is accurate, secure, and usable for reporting, evaluation, and research outcomes. Working closely with the Project Manager, Chief Investigators, Lead Biostatistician, site-based data staff, and national and international collaborators, the role provides expert leadership in the design, implementation, and stewardship of high-quality, secure and interoperable data systems and registries, supporting the program and its integration with broader type 1 diabetes research initiatives. The program brings together clinicians, researchers, data specialists, health professionals, and consumer advocates with strong links to national and international screening, monitoring, and registry initiatives in early type 1 diabetes. The successful candidate will contribute to our institution's commitment to excellence in research and innovation in agronomy and soils sciences, mainly by conducting innovate research which allow us: (i) to evaluate the effect of land uses and agricultural practices on the capacity of soils to store carbon and (ii) to develop strategies (organo-mineral amendment, installation of a plant cover, inoculation by microorganisms of agronomic interest) and propose recommendations (iii) to increase the sequestration of organic matter on its stable form in the soils and (iv) to use practical biological soil health indicators, such as soil fauna, to promote sustainable use of agricultural soils in Africa. Description The Center for Translational Medical Devices (CENTMED) at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to recruit a postdoctoral research associate to join this new initiative focusing on designing and developing novel medical devices for ultimate human use. CENTMED oversees a variety of exciting projects developing new treatments and diagnostics for cardiovascular, neurologic, and metabolic diseases. The successful applicant will join a number of fascinating projects on engineering novel approaches to modulate physiology and neural activity in the brain, gastrointestinal (GI) tract, and other peripheral organs. These projects have a high potential for translation towards treating a variety of neurologic and metabolic disorders. These approaches entail device design and manufacturing, drug conjugation, neuroscience, and preclinical model experiments. The candidate will work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment alongside PhD-level engineers and scientists, graduate students, and full-time researchers.
