The Person We welcome applicants who can demonstrate: Postgraduate qualifications and/or extensive professional experience in mechanical engineering or a related specialist field. Significant experience in mechanical and opto‑mechanical design, analysis, and validation—ideally in research, aerospace, physics, or astronomy environments. Advanced proficiency in CAD modelling, mechanical analysis, and integration of optical, thermal, and mechanical design approaches (e.g. FEA; ASME Y14.5 or equivalent). Experience with vacuum cryogenic systems (highly desirable). Strong capability in the design, assembly, alignment, and testing of precision mechanical systems. Ability to collaborate effectively across diverse, multidisciplinary teams. Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster inclusive team culture. About the opportunity Join the Division of the Academic Registrar within the University of Sydney as the Senior Manager, Review and Reporting Services to oversee the review and reporting function, leading the operational management of course review activities and driving continuous improvement. Working closely with the Deputy Registrar and Executive Director (Curriculum and Policy), the Senior Manager will leverage their extensive course review and development experience and be responsible for activities that support the review, analysis, consolidation of clear and implementable recommendations for course solutions and aligned with institutional curriculum principles and requirements, regulatory and professional accreditation requirements. About RoboPrecinct@PDD SmartPrecinct@PDD initiative aims to develop a precinct-scale robotics and embodied AI ecosystem at Punggol Digital District (PDD). The programme establishes shared digital infrastructure, regulatory frameworks (including cybersecurity and safety), embodied AI capabilities, industry collaborations, and real-world test-bedding environments to enable safe and scaled deployment of robots in PDD. The Business Development Manager will drive industry engagement and partnership development to attract companies to participate in robotics test-bedding and applied research collaborations. Key Responsibilities Industry engagement and partnership development Identify and engage robotics companies, technology providers, startups, and research partners to participate in the SmartPrecinct@PDD programme. Work closely with technical teams to identify industry use cases aligned with the SmartPrecinct infrastructure and capabilities. Support the development of joint projects between SIT and industry partners; prepare collaboration contracts/agreements and support the onboarding process for companies joining the SmartPrecinct ecosystem.
