Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Associate Professor / Assistant Professor in International Relations in the Department of Politics and Public Administration (Ref: 536865), to commence in August 2027 or at another mutually agreed time, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract, both subject to satisfactory performance. Exceptionally outstanding candidates at the Associate Professor level may be considered for appointment on direct tenure terms subject to the University's approval.

The Department of Politics and Public Administration is an internationally oriented research-focused department that covers a broad range of fields in Political Science and Public Administration. The Department offers three highly successful taught postgraduate programmes - Master in International and Public Affairs (MIPA), Master of Public Administration (MPA) and Doctor of Public Administration (DPA) - as well as a thriving undergraduate programme. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. degree by the time of appointment and demonstrate excellence in research and teaching. The Department welcomes applications from excellent candidates who specialise in any field of International Relations and is eager to both consolidate its existing strengths and to diversify into new areas of research and teaching.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At the current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of the gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of the basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.

	Provide academic support, mentoring and advice to students
	Act as the first point of response/contact in managing student issues or complaints


Essential Skills and Experience


	Minimum Bachelor’s degree and relevant professional/industry work experience (10-week courses)
	Minimum Masters or PhD (6-week courses)
	Ability to undertake a range of teaching duties in an online environment
	Ability to actively engage and educate a diverse student group
	Excellent written and interpersonal skills
	Ability to use the necessary digital techniques and tools required for effective online teaching
	Available to work outside of normal working hours, including weekends

Macau University of Science and Technology

Department: Macau Institute of Space Technology and Application (M.I.S.T.A.)

Position: Researcher/Associate Researcher/Assistant Researcher/Postdoctoral Researcher

Description

The Macau Institute of Space Technology and Application (M.I.S.T.A.) was established on September 1, 2023. It is a new platform in the field of Macau aerospace science and technology established by the Macau University of Science and Technology Foundation. The institute will focus on the scientific research and application of Macao satellites as well as scientific research and application work in the field of aerospace science and technology. The institute will closely focus on the development principle of "facing the world's technological frontiers, facing the main economic battlefield, and facing major national needs" and integrate Macau's aerospace science and technology capabilities into the overall situation of national aerospace science and technology innovation and development.

Due to scientific research needs, the institute is currently looking to expand and strengthen its scientific and applied research fields to help Macao create a major new platform for aerospace science and technology and enhance Macao’s influence in the domestic and international science and technology circles.

Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor (RAP)/ Post-doctoral Fellow (PDF) in the Division of Community Medicine and Public Health Practice, School of Public Health (Ref.: 536802), to commence as soon as possible, on a one-year temporary or two-year fixed term basis for RAP, or on a one- to two-year temporary basis for PDF, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Nursing, Public Health, Social Sciences, Social Work, Statistics or health-related disciplines, with multiple years of relevant experience. They should demonstrate strong competency in qualitative and quantitative data analysis and have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese). Postdoctoral research experience, especially a strong background in nursing, public health and primary healthcare research, and an excellent publication and teaching track record would be advantages.

The appointee will contribute to a research project on nursing leadership, nursing practice and nursing education related fields for nursing professionals in Hong Kong. He/She will assist the Principal Investigator to plan, coordinate, implement research and collect data; administer the project and survey design; conduct literature review and data analysis; examine methodologies; design assessment tools and questionnaires; prepare manuscripts, research meetings, research findings, presentations and evaluation reports; supervise Post-doctoral Fellow (for the post of RAP) and Research Assistants; collaborate with the project administration and teaching teams; and perform other relevant tasks as assigned.

Candidates with less experience in publications and project management may be considered for the post of PDF.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualification and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. For RAP, the appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
