About ACER CoE: The centre has been recently created to address enduring process challenges in Chemistry and Engineering disciplines and create an environment for interdisciplinary research. The research program of ACER is multidisciplinary, with faculty members from backgrounds in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and Environmental Engineering focusing on different research fields such as catalysis, separation, energy generation, conversion and storage, and organic optoelectronics intelligent and advanced polymers and materials. Job description: The successful candidate will: Conduct original and high-quality research in adsorption-based separation and/or membrane technology. Develop novel adsorbents and/or membranes for gas or liquid storage and separation applications. Characterize adsorption and transport properties using advanced analytical techniques. Prepare high-impact research papers for publication in leading peer-reviewed journals and present findings at international conferences, workshops, and meetings. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and engage in knowledge exchange with industry and academic partners. Contribute to the preparation of research proposals for external funding. Support the supervision of graduate students and assist in guiding their research projects. Assist in the development of undergraduate and postgraduate courses and modules. Facilitate the acquisition of necessary laboratory equipment and interact with international suppliers when required. Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field with expertise in adsorption and/or membrane-based separation technologies. The following qualifications and skills are expected: PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field. Expertise in adsorption or membrane-based separation technologies (e.g., gas separation, water treatment, or CO₂ capture). Strong knowledge of adsorption isotherm models, mass transport mechanisms, and surface chemistry. Experience in synthesis, functionalization, and characterization of adsorbents or membranes. Proficiency in advanced characterization techniques, such as BET, FTIR, XRD, SEM, TEM, TGA, ICP, and gas sorption analysis. Good understanding of process design for adsorption or membrane-based separation. Strong track record of publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals. Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English. Ability to work independently as well as in a multidisciplinary research team. Prior experience in student supervision and research coordination is a plus. About MSN department: The Department of Materials Science, Energy, and nano-Engineering (MSN) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in Morocco has been in operation for 4 years and during that time expanded quite substantially. The department is organized in 4 Scientific Areas: Energy (batteries and hydrogen), Polymers and Composite Materials, Surface Science, and Sustainable Materials and Re-cycling. Description of the position and duties: The position is devoted to organic synthesis and studies of ion conducting polymers and polymer-based membranes (anion and cation exchange membranes). These materials will be used in hydrogen fuel cells and for water electrolyzer (alkaline and PEM). The research will focus on developing synthetic strategies and know how to design, to synthesis and functionalize these materials from the molecular level to achieve membranes with high selectivity, conductivity, and stability. The candidate is expected to have an extensive experience in chemistry of polymers and organic synthesis, development of new monomers, ionomers, ionogels, oligomers and polymers along with chemical modification and post- polymerization modification, polymer characterization, preparation of functional membranes, as well as analysis of ion selectivity and conductivity, mechanical and thermal properties with a focus on thermochemical stability and aging, membrane testing to determine IEC, transference number and selectivity, chemical stability and assembling/testing with electrodes. The successful candidate is expected to contribute and establish active research in the field of selective membranes for water electrolysis to produce hydrogen and for fuel cells within the hydrogen group at the MSN department and to participate indifferent activities of the department. The applicant must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry, polymer chemistry. Extensive experience in membrane development, testing and polymer synthesis, functionalization, modification, are mandatory. Knowledge or mastering computational fluid dynamics software and modeling tools to simulate and study fluid flow through porous electrode, membranes, electrode membrane assembly (MEA) for electrolysis and fuel cells will be an asset. Preference will be given to applicants with excellent and relevant R&D along with excellent publication track record. Good communication skills, both verbal and writing are mandatory in English.

Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Advanced Magnetic and Electromagnetic Separation and Speciation of Metallic Minerals Benguerir-Jorf Lasfar The CBS department of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University is launching a call for applications for a post-doctoral fellowship specializing in magnetic/electromagnetic separation in solid and liquid matrices. Applicants should have a thorough understanding of the principles of magnetic separation and magnetic phenomena, as well as expertise in experimental methods to study the interactions between magnetic fields and solid and liquid materials. Additionally, knowledge of the physical and chemical properties of materials, particularly their magnetism, is required. The postdoctoral fellow will join the CBS-IGSAC department where they will be responsible for participating in the conduct of a research program on the valorization of phosphate by-products and its derivatives. The focus will be on developing and executing studies on magnetic/electromagnetic techniques for the separation, concentration, recovery, or destruction of certain elements.
