The University of Gujrat is located in a historic walled city in Gujrat, in central Punjab, in Pakistan. The university was founded by the Punjab government in 2004. The main campus, city campuses of Marghzan Colony and GT Road and the Mandi Bahauddin sub-campus are all co-educational. There is a female-only campus at Fawara Chawk. The university is divided into faculties of arts, computer and information science, engineering and technology, management and administrative science, social science, science and the school of arts and design. The Medical School was established in 2008 and offers courses in medicine, dentistry, physiotherapy, nursing and nuclear medicine and is developing the 400-bed Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Hospital as a teaching hospital. Around 2,500 part-time students take evening classes offered by the faculty of evening programmes.

Description The Center for Interacting Urban Networks, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Junior Research Scientist to support the project LANDMark on research on land economics, in any of the following areas: Measurement of land prices, with a focus on imputation techniques Land value determinants: public infrastructures (transport, health, and education services) Macroeconomic stability and instability in the presence of land as a fixed, non-produced asset Taxation of land wealth as an alternative to the consumption tax and the capital tax The political economy of land and its taxation Land, fixed resources, and political conflict The successful applicant will contribute to the research centered on any of these themes. The qualified candidate will have an MSc or an MA in economics or another quantitative field with no more than five years from receipt of the degree, and an appetite for working on interdisciplinary teams. This position requires: Research experience in the mentioned areas of land (in a broad sense, including housing, macroeconomics, labor, urban, spatial economics, political economy, and conflict). Excellent communication skills in English. Associations and collaborative research funding projects with researchers in Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, and Political Science are encouraged. Your future tasks: We are looking for a highly-motivated technician who will support our research group in microbiological and molecular biological tasks. These include (but are not limited to): lab organization, media preparation, cultivating soil microorganisms, growth and activity measurements, nucleic acids extraction, PCR and dPCR, soil sample preparation for downstream analytical measurements. A particular focus will be the generation and curation of a culture collection in the Woebken Group. As such, the applicant should have experience in microbiology and/or molecular methods. This is part of your personality: Completed training in chemical engineering or biology (apprenticeship, vocational school, technical college) or equivalent training. Or Master’s degree in microbiology, molecular biology or related discipline. Previous experience with bacterial growth and cultivation is ideal. The Department of Chemical Sciences seeks a Professor to join the Analytical Chemistry cluster. The successful candidate will be actively involved in teaching, research, and academic administration at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Responsibilities:  Be actively involved in core activities of the department such as teaching, research, academic administration, short-course development, marketing, and community engagement projects.  Assume responsibility to teach modules (theory and/or practical) enlisted for Analytical Chemistry undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the Department.  The incumbent will also be expected to participate in curriculum development and teach modules in postgraduate programmes.  Annually publish peer-reviewed papers in accredited scientific and/or academic journals, and deliver papers at national and international conferences, commensurate with the level of appointment.  Actively supervise postgraduate students.  Obtain research funding from external funding bodies.
