UET Lahore was founded in 1921 as Mughalpura Technical College and went through a number of incarnations before being named UET in 1972. The university operates over five campuses within the Punjab region, with the main site in Lahore, and links to 23 research centres. The student population numbers over 11,000 across undergraduate, master's and PhD disciplines. UET offers 92 STEM courses within the faculties of architecture and planning; business and management; chemical, mineral and metallurgical Engineering; civil engineering; earth sciences and engineering; electrical engineering; mechanical engineering and natural sciences; humanities and Islamic studies. The university is linked to 42 international institutions including a number of UK universities (University of Manchester, University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, the University of Bedfordshire, and Queen Mary University, London among others) as well as other technological universities, such as the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) in China. On the research side, Huawei, Cavium Networks, Microsoft and MontaVista are among the companies who have funded UET. Facilities for students include the National Library of Engineering Sciences, the biggest of its kind in the country and comprising of more than 1,00,000 books, 25,000 journals, 5,000 theses and 1,500 CDs. As well as a number of societies, UET has a number of facilities for indoor and outdoor sports, including an Olympic-sized swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, a gymnasium and a stadium. Notable among its diverse alumni include a number of academics now teaching abroad and Parvez Butt, nuclear engineer and former chairman of the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC), singer and musician Jarward Ahmad and actor Sam Khan.

Full-time, 12-month fixed term appointment, with probable extension for organised and dedicated Research Assistant An opportunity to provide research support to the Brain and Mind Centre and be part of the FMH Central Clinical School Base Salary $89,755 + 17% superannuation About the opportunity The University of Sydney's Brain and Mind Centre is a centre for discovery, innovation and integrative research strategies, clinical product development and actions that translate research into improved treatment and disease prevention strategies. The centre is made up of 27 research units, staffed by around 200 researchers and 100 students. The Youth Mental Health and Technology team puts young people at the centre of their own care. We partner with health services to develop innovative treatments for those aged 12-25 with emerging mental health disorders. The integration of cutting-edge research with safe and effective clinical care enables us too quickly and effectively translate our research findings into clinical services, facilitating continuous improvements to mental health services for the benefit of young people in Australia. We are looking for a Research Assistant to join our team and contribute to clinical trials and cohort studies of national significance for youth mental health. This position will be responsible for providing relevant support to the Brain and Mind Centre's Youth Mental Health and Technology team. This includes supporting the management and delivery of a health services clinical trials and cohort studies, preparing relevant educational materials, performing fundamental aspects of clinical research work, working with clinicians, academics, and youth mental health service providers, and contributing to the efficient operation of the research work area by providing essential research support. Your key responsibilities will be to: recruiting study participants, liaising with potential participants, their clinicians and services, where appropriate conducting diagnostic interviews with participants using multiple standardised clinical assessment instruments, always adhering to research protocol liaising and communicating with clinical staff (such as psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, nurses, youth workers), as well as research staff located on-site facilitate referrals into research studies and other forms of continuing care and conduct clinical/research programs as required coordinating the collection of data, including assisting other research staff with data entry and analysis assisting in presentations to clinical staff and other services to promote and provide information about the research studies assisting with the preparation of publications arising from the study ability to work outside of normal business hours on occasion and travel to the trial sites as necessary. About you undertaking a PhD or has completed an Honors year in psychology or a relevant field demonstrated experience in face-to-face patient interaction, with a focus on mental health outcomes familiar with the administrative requirements of supporting research activities possess strong attention to detail and a focus on quality when working with data experience in supporting clinical trials is highly desirable. Job Description SCHOOL OF CHINESE MEDICINE TEACHING AND RESEARCH DIVISION The School of Chinese Medicine (SCM) was established in 1999 and offers comprehensive education programmes in Chinese medicine, including both undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy in Chinese Medicine. The School is engaged in a wide range of research projects, provides Chinese medicine healthcare services to the community, and seeks to foster modernisation of the Chinese medicine profession. To consolidate the strengths of innovative research, the School has established eight high quality theme-based Research Centres equipped with advanced equipment and facilities. The highlighted strategic research areas in the School include (1) Precision medicine and phenomics study; (2) Translational medicine and innovative drug discovery; and (3) Authentication and testing of Chinese medicines. Associate Professor / Assistant Professor (23240130) To strengthen the research capacity, power the current research disciplinaries of SCM and keep up with the evolving global research environment of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the School is hiring a full-time faculty member at Assistant Professor level or above related to data science and/or computational chemistry. The data science expert, preferably with research experience in Chinese Medicine-related projects, will interact closely with the current faculty members on collaborative research projects to bring breakthrough efforts in the modern Chinese medicine research field. Candidates should possess a PhD degree in or related areas and relevant postdoctoral training with experience in and a strong understanding of bioinformatics, biostatistics, computational drug discovery and translational research. Preference will be given to candidates with appealing external grant records, outstanding publication and leading potential in research areas of clinical or populational studies with innovative therapeutic interventions. Overseas experience in world-class universities and good English communication skills are highly desirable. The appointee is also expected to teach subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, establish a vigorous research program in the areas of interest, and develop research cluster by collaborations within and outside the School.
