The Central Institute of Training Leaders of Public Education of the Ministry of Education for the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic was founded in 1952, the first higher-educational institute of postgraduate education in Ukraine.

Its name was then truncated to the University of Educational Management, or UEM for short.

It is now divided into three institutes: the Central Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education; the education and scientific institute of management and psychology; and Bila Tserkva institute of continuous education.

UEM provides a hostel for student accommodation. Facilities also include a press centre and broadcasting area.

There is an active student life, propelled by student self-governance. Alongside conferences, seminars and workshops, UEM offers concert programmes and humour contests.

The field of the position is Clinical Data Science with Finnish as the language of instruction. The professorship in Clinical Data Science is connected to the position of Techonology Manager at HUS Helsinki University Hospital. DutiesThe Professor is responsible for undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing education in Clinical Data Science. In addition, the Professor participates in practical small group and lecture-based teaching in their area of expertise, as appropriate, across all educational programs in the Faculty. The position includes carrying out and supervising scientific research, following developments in research in the relevant field and participating in societal interaction as well as national and international cooperation in the field. In addition, the professor’s duties include other tasks assigned by the Faculty Common selection criteria of the Faculty of Medicine An appointee to a professorship shall hold a doctoral degree and have top-level scholarly qualifications, experience in the supervision of scientific research, as well as the ability to provide top-level research-based teaching and to supervise theses and dissertations. In addition, the appointee shall present documentation of international cooperation in the field of research that they represents. Holders of professorships shall also have the skills necessary for serving as an academic leader. The degree requirement must be met by the end of the application deadline. When considering the applicant’s qualifications, attention shall be given to scientific publications and other research results of scientific value, teaching experience and pedagogical training, the ability to produce teaching material, other teaching merits as well as the applicant’s participation in doctoral education. Account shall also be taken of the applicant’s activity in the scientific community, success in obtaining external research funding, international research experience and international elected positions as well as leadership and interaction skills. To ensure that the applicant’s ability to supervise theses and dissertations meets the requirements of the Faculty of Medicine, they must have completed the supervision of at least one doctoral dissertation. The requirement for a supervised dissertation must be met by the end of the application period. The project leverages advanced materials engineering expertise to deliver an innovative, eco-friendly, low-carbon tunnelling solution that is first-of-its-kind. This will contribute to addressing the urgent need to address the climate emergency and help achieve carbon emissions reduction targets. We are seeking a Civil Engineering and Materials (KTP Associate) to join the team. As a KTP Associate you will deliver an innovative project as an employee of the University of East London, but will spend most of your working time at the company’s premises and sites. Technical Tracing the complex binding, self-forming, self-regulating and self-healing mechanisms (e.g., hydration, silicatisation, sequestration) reactions in Realtime, their interdependencies, and complex response to the environmental factors and controllers. Adaptation of the TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) current technology to suit the new grout. The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses a centralized pool of academic staff under the Professional Officers scheme. Professional Officers come with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. They form the talent pool which brings a much-needed industry perspective to student learning. They facilitate applied learning and applied research in SIT, complementing the academic expertise of the faculty to bring industry practices and applications into the curriculum. Professional Officers leverage on their industry experiences to create authentic learning environments, where discovery and innovation take place. They act as coaches and mentors to students during practical learning activities such as laboratory sessions, Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Professional Officers could also lead or work with faculty on industry innovation projects to provide solutions to the industry. In addition to their role in applied learning and applied research, Professional Officers manage the centralised laboratory facilities and resources in SIT. With Technical Officers, laboratory safety professionals, and administrators in POD, they jointly develop central policies and processes for the safe and seamless operation of laboratories in SIT. Key Responsibilities Design and teach labs & practice modules. Mentor students in Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Lead or co-lead innovation projects with industry. Manage labs and equipment to support academic programmes and applied research. Ensure safety in labs. Job Requirements A good degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Masters, PhD and/or relevant professional certifications like registered PE would be advantageous. Deep technical specialist with 10 or more years of working experience in mechanical design, systems design and integration or related area in mechatronics would be preferred. Experience in following areas are highly desirable: Complex Mechanical systems development and integration Material and components selection including working knowledge with integration and selection of components/systems such as actuators, pumps, hydraulics system, PLC/Controls systems CAD software such as SolidWorks Simulation such as Finite element and CFD simulation Hands-on prototyping and fabrication skills to guide students in labs It will be advantageous with working knowledge of Material testing and material properties Programming of Control and PLC systems Software such as Ansys and Abaqus Extensive hands-on experience and knowledge of industry practices and engineering principles to bring industry perspective to SIT. Keen interest in innovation projects, with demonstrated ability in developing solutions to technical problems.
