The University of Craiova was established in 1947 and is located in the largest city in southwestern Romania, Craiova. The university has 12 faculties in total, offering an extensive range of degree programmes that include: agronomy; automation, computers and electronics, law, economics and business administration, physical education and sport, horticulture, electrical engineering, letters, mechanics, theology, sciences, and social sciences. Across these faculties, programmes are offered at a bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate levels. Teaching degrees are also on offer to prospective students. The University of Craiova has two campuses: Craiova and Drobeta-Turnu Severin. The Craiova campus includes technology, economics, informatics and secretarial work, while the Drobeta-Turnu Severin campus has administration and informatics. There are a range of facilities available on campus including a library, the Craiova Botanical Garden, a university TV station and a mechanics complex. The university places a strong emphasis on its international partnerships through a range of programmes including Erasmus, Comenius, Leonardo da Vinci and Grundtvig.

Job Description COLLEGE OF INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION Established in 2000, the College of International Education (CIE) is a self-funded unit of the Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), offering full-time Associate Degree (AD), Higher Diploma (HD) and Undergraduate (UG) Honours Degree Programmes at the Shek Mun (Shatin) campus. It is a major education providing unit of the School of Continuing Education (SCE), one of the Faculties/Schools of HKBU. CIE currently enrolls over 3,500 students and is committed to the University’s mission of providing quality whole-person higher education with a Christian heritage. English is used as the medium of instruction at the College. Applications are now invited for the following position: Lecturer II / Assistant Lecturer in Cultural Studies, Creative Industries and Cultural Management (25260670) We are seeking a committed and qualified Lecturer II/Assistant Lecturer to join our academic team.  Responsibilities: Teaching and Curriculum Development Teach courses in areas such as cultural management, creative industries, arts administration, cultural studies, and related subjects; Develop and revise course materials that integrate industry practice with critical cultural theory; Supervise student projects, including honors projects, internships, and industry-based assignments; and Contribute to programme review and enhancement in alignment with evolving industry trends. Industry Engagement and Networking Leverage industry connections and facilitate partnerships with relevant stakeholders to create internship, mentorship, and collaborative opportunities for students; and Support students’ career development within cultural and creative sectors. Academic and Administrative Duties Participate in programme administration and quality assurance processes; Contribute to student advising and academic mentorship; and Engage in service activities at programme, school, or institutional levels as required. Requirements: A recognised master’s degree or above in Cultural Studies, Cultural Management, Arts Administration, Creative Industries, or a closely related field. A doctoral degree is preferred; Substantial professional experience in cultural management, curatorial practice, arts administration, creative entrepreneurship, or related sectors. A demonstrated track record of industry collaboration and a well-established professional network in cultural and creative fields will be an advantage; Proven teaching experience in Cultural Studies, Creative Industries, Arts and Cultural Management, or closely related subjects at tertiary level; A strong commitment to student-centred teaching and experiential learning; and A track record of high-quality research outputs clearly linked to the teaching expertise outlined in the description of the full-time position. Applicants must show dedication and strong commitment in teaching and education within and beyond the classroom. They must also be a good team player with excellent communication skills. Candidates with less experience will be considered for the post of Assistant Lecturer. Reference salary range:  Lecturer II : HK$38,000 - HK$53,000 Assistant Lecturer : HK$30,000 - HK$39,000 The appointee will work at the Shek Mun (Shatin) campus.  The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract ending in August 2027. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. Job Purpose The Research Fellow will lead the development of a Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) biosensor platform for rapid detection of microbial bioburden in biopharmaceutical cleaning validation processes. The role involves aptamer discovery, nanomaterial-based SERS sensor development, and integration with microfluidic systems for real-time monitoring of cleaning validation washout fluids. Opportunities to contribute to patent filings, translational research, and commercialization pathways will be available. Key Responsibilities Technical Responsibilities Design and screen high-affinity ssDNA aptamers targeting environmental microorganisms listed in the US Pharmacopeia. Develop nanoparticle-based SERS substrates (Ag/Au nanoclusters) for enhanced Raman signal detection. Design and fabricate microfluidic sensing interfaces for continuous monitoring of cleaning validation fluids. Perform sensor validation using Raman spectroscopy, microbial cultures, and cleaning validation samples. Develop data analysis pipelines for Raman spectral classification, potentially integrating machine learning methods.  Research & Project Responsibilities Plan and execute experimental workflows to achieve project milestones. Lead prototype development and performance optimization of the SERS biosensor system. Communicate research outcomes through technical reports, conference presentations, and scientific publications. Collaborate with industry partners and interdisciplinary research teams where applicable.  Operational Responsibilities Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with Work Safety and Health (WSH) regulations. Manage procurement of specialized equipment and research consumables.  Mentorship Mentor research engineers, graduate students, and undergraduate researchers. Contribute to training activities within the research group. Others To communicate in any relevant internal or external stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met. Any ad-hoc duties assigned by Supervisor.  Job Requirements Essential PhD in Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Nanotechnology, Analytical Chemistry, or related fields. Strong publication record in biosensors, nanomaterials, Raman spectroscopy, or microfluidics. Demonstrated experience in nanoparticle-based biosensor development or SERS sensing platforms. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) for microfluidic device design. Experience with Raman spectroscopy instrumentation and spectral data analysis.  Preferred Experience in microfluidic chip fabrication (soft lithography, PDMS, or micro-machining).
