The University of Colorado Boulder (CU-Boulder) is a public research university in Boulder, Colorado, established in 1876.

Situated at the foot of the scenic Rocky Mountains, students of the university can enjoy incredible views from campus and take advantage of a range of outdoors pursuits (Boulder has 300 miles of bike routes, and a multitude of national parks and forests, as well as downhill and cross-country ski areas).

The university’s motto, from the original Greek, reads ‘Let Your Light Shine’.

Over the years, a number of Nobel laureates, astronauts and MacArthur Fellows have been linked with the university, either as students, researchers or members of the faculty. The American actor Robert Redford, who founded the internationally celebrated Sundance Film Festival, is an alumnus of the university.

The university has been ranked by Forbes as the 18th the most entrepreneurial university in the nation. According to the 2015 US News & World Report, the university also ranks within the top 10 in the fields of aerospace engineering, ceramics, environmental law, geology, physical chemistry and quantum physics.

CU-Boulder describes itself as having one of the most active college campuses in the US, with athletics and outdoors projects playing a central role in the student experience.

Its sports teams are known as ‘Buffaloes’ and the university is a member of the Presidents’ Athletic Conference.

As well as sports clubs, CU-Boulder is home to more than 300 organisations and clubs. Boulder is also served by a plethora of museums and galleries, such as the centrally located Colorado University Art Museum, and students are encouraged to ‘serve the greater good’ through volunteerism and civic engagement.

The university’s alumni network is in excess of 270,000 who comprise an online community and go by the name of the 'Forever Buffs Network.'

Description Laboratory for Advanced Neuroengineering and Translational Medicine at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to recruit a postdoctoral research associate to join this new initiative focusing on designing and developing novel medical devices for ultimate human use. Laboratory for Advanced Neuroengineering and Translational Medicine oversees a variety of exciting projects developing new treatments and diagnostics for cardiovascular, neurologic, and metabolic diseases. The successful applicant will join a number of fascinating projects on engineering novel approaches to modulate physiology and neural activity in the brain, gastrointestinal (GI) tract, and other peripheral organs. These projects have a high potential for translation towards treating a variety of neurologic and metabolic disorders. These approaches entail device design and manufacturing, drug conjugation, neuroscience, and preclinical model experiments. The candidate will work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment alongside PhD-level engineers and scientists, graduate students, and full-time researchers. They will also have the chance to contribute to other projects within CENTMED, working on cutting-edge initiatives spanning metabolic, cardiovascular, and neurologic diseases. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on next-generation surgical technologies, bridging the gap between engineering innovation and clinical application. Applicants must have a PhD in an engineering or biomedical-related field. Excellent experimental skills relevant to the project (in particular device design and fabrication, drug conjugation, and in vitro and in vivo experimentation) are required.  Proficiency in English is required. About us The Department of Informatics is launching a new hybrid (online/in-person) programme, the MSc Advanced Cyber Security (SE Asia), as part of our global online degree offerings. To support the delivery of world-renowned teaching in this programme and to contribute more broadly to the excellence in education within the Department, we are seeking to appoint two lecturing positions in Cybersecurity: 1 x Lecturer in Cybersecurity Education (3-year fixed-term contract, Grade 7) 1 x Senior Lecturer in Cybersecurity Education (Programme Lead) (3-year fixed-term contract, Grade 8) Candidates should demonstrate ambition to become scholars of international standing, with a research and publication trajectory in Computer Science Education that reflects this goal.
