Faculty of Design The newly established Faculty of Design will emphasize the integration of design, culture and technology. It will comprise the Department of Visual Communication Design, the Department of Architecture and Urban Design, and the Department of Industrial Design. The faculty aims to cultivate a new generation of design professionals and enhance Macao’s international influence in design education and the creative industries, with an expected enrolment of around 1,500 students. Dean of Faculty of Design The successful candidate should have considerable experience in faculty management, academic strategic planning, curriculum design, laboratory setup and research development, and must be highly committed to the pursuit of excellence in teaching, research and service. In particular, the candidate should have the following credentials: An earned doctoral degree in Design or related disciplines; A distinguished record of professional achievements that may include major awards, grants, exhibitions or recognized creative scholarship; Evidence of outstanding academic leadership, demonstrated commitment to leading research and professional practice, and a record of effective teaching in higher education settings; Ability to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, drive technological innovation, and establish relationship with diverse stakeholders; Excellent management and communication skills; Proficiency in English is required as it is the working language, while knowledge in Chinese/Portuguese will be an advantage. Remuneration Remuneration will be commensurate with the successful applicant’s academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions. Description The Perception and Active Cognition (PAC) Lab at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is seeking an Emirati Junior Research Scientist for a 30-month position supporting a collaborative research project between NYUAD and the National Academy of Childhood Development (NACD), a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority. Applicants with a background in psychology, neuroscience, linguistics and developmental psychology are encouraged to apply. Terms of employment include competitive salary and benefits. This role involves on-site work across NYUAD and NACD facilities and focuses on interdisciplinary research at the intersection of psychology, neuroscience and linguistics. The position also involves direct interaction with Emirati participants of all ages recruited through NACD, requiring strong communication skills and cultural sensitivity.
