The University of Cincinnati (UC) is one of the US’ top 20 public research institutions.

It has been classified as a Research University by the Carnegie Commission, and is counted as one of America’s top 30 public research universities by the National Science Foundations.

As its name suggests, it is located in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is the region’s largest employer.

Since its formation in 1819, the university has been the birthplace of numerous ground-breaking discoveries, such as the first cooperative education programme in the world. Established in 1906, this programme provides professional experience along with classroom learning.

Notable inventions and discoveries accredited to UC researchers include the world's first electronic organ, the antihistamine, the heart-lung machine and the oral polio vaccine.

Its alumni includes the astronaut Neil Armstrong, US Vice President Charles G. Dawes, and the Pulitzer Prize-winning editorial cartoonist, Walt Handelsman.

Today, UC has an enrolment of over 44,000 students and offers over 300 programmes of study. It also provides International Programs, which gives students the opportunity to study abroad.

The University has been described by US News as one of 15 “up and coming” universities, and referred to as one of the world’s most beautiful campuses by Forbes Magazine. It has also been labelled a “green school” by Princeton Review.

Home to a host of impressive facilities, such as a 200,000 square-foot recreation centre, UC is also known for its commitment to sport, and its athletics teams are known as the ‘Bearcats’ – a nickname coined during a football game in 1914.

The university has won over 40 conference championships in the Mid-American Conference, Missouri Valley Conference, Metro Conference, Conference USA, and the Big East Conference, and is now a member of the American Athletic Conference.

As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. The researcher will be part of the team of the CFI Project (https://www.pub.gov.sg/-/media/PUB/Resources/Press-Releases/2024/06/Annex-A_Tranche-2-Research-Projects-Awarded-Under-CFI-Singapore.pdf). The primary role involves developing and validating Hydrodynamic models to study performance of integrated floating breakwater and marine renewable energy. Responsibilities include calibrating simulations with experimental/numerical data, performance analysis, and contributing to interdisciplinary research on coastal protection, with an emphasis on delivering accurate and impactful modeling insights. Key Responsibilities Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. Undertake these responsibilities in the project: 1. Wave Stochastic Analysis and Hydrodynamics  Conduct advanced stochastic analysis of wave environments to evaluate the performance of floating structures.  Analyze hydrodynamic behavior of floating breakwaters under varied sea conditions. 2. Hydrodynamic and Fluid Structure Interaction Modeling Perform Hydrodynamic simulations to optimize the design and performance of floating breakwaters. Develop models for stability assessment, structural integrity, and dynamic response of floating systems. 3. Connector Design Design and analyze mechanical connectors for the integration of multi-purpose floating breakwater systems, ensuring structural stability and durability. 4. Design and Integration Develop innovative designs for floating breakwaters that integrate wave energy converters (WECs) and, tidal energy systems. Optimize design configurations to maximize energy harnessing and wave attenuation. 5. Experimental Testing Plan and conduct physical model tests in wave basin to validate computational models. Analyze experimental data to improve and validate the floating breakwater design. 6. Research Documentation and Dissemination: Prepare technical reports, research papers, and presentations to disseminate findings to academic and industry stakeholders. Contribute to project proposals and progress updates for funding agencies. Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations. 7. Project Management Support: Ensure timely execution of project milestones Coordinate with external collaborators and manage data-sharing protocols. Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment. The employee is to communicate with any relevant internal or external stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met. Any other adhoc duties assigned by supervisor. Job Requirements PhD/Master’s in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field. Proficiency in hydrodynamic modeling tools (e.g., WAMIT, ANSYS AQWA, OrcaFlex) and finite element analysis software (e.g., Abaqus, ANSYS). Experience with stability and mooring system design. Description The Healy Laboratory in the Chemistry Program of the Division of Sciences at New York University Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a Post-doctoral Associate or Associate Research Scientist starting November 2026. Applicants with backgrounds in synthetic organic and medicinal chemistry are encouraged to apply. The research is aimed at developing an automated chemical platform for the synthesis and biological evaluation of natural products as leads for a drug discovery program. The lab and the core research facilities at NYUAD are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for organic synthesis (https://healylab.com/). Applicants for the Post-Doctoral Associate appointment must have received a Ph.D. in chemistry or related subject or be within a few months from completion, and with no more than five years post receipt of their PhD. Applicants for the Associate Research Scientist role must have received a Ph.D. in chemistry or related subject, and have at least 3 years of research experience, not including the years of post-doctoral study. Description The Division of Engineering at New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a motivated Junior Research Scientist to work under the supervision of Dr. Marwa Chafii on Channel Modeling for integrated sensing and communication (ISAC). Responsibilities: Lead the design, setup, and execution of ISAC channel measurement campaigns across multiple environments, hardware platforms, and frequency bands Develop, validate, and document ISAC channel modeling methodologies tailored to the lab’s hardware/software testbed. Integrate SDRs (e.g., USRPs, RFSoC) and RF front-ends (FR2, FR3, V-band) into end-to-end ISAC demonstrators. Implement and optimize advanced signal processing algorithms for joint communication and sensing. Analyze experimental datasets, extract statistical models, and compare findings across environments, hardware, and frequency bands. Collaborate with PhD students, postdocs, and faculty on joint projects, ensuring experimental results support theoretical work. Co-author scientific publications in IEEE journals and conferences, and contribute to open datasets/methodologies for the research community. Requirements: Education: B.Sc. with any level of experience, or M.Sc. with less than 5 years of experience, in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a closely related field. SDR Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with SDRs (USRP, RFSoC, or equivalent). FPGA programming experience is a plus. Programming Skills: Strong experience with MATLAB and/or Python; experience with C++ for high-performance signal processing is a plus. Experimentation: Proven experience developing wireless prototypes, demonstrators, or proof-of-concept systems. Signal Processing: Solid knowledge of channel estimation, channel sounding, and multipath modeling (channel impulse response, frequency response, MIMO models, AoA, AoD, delay, Doppler, etc). RF Systems: Familiarity with RF front-ends, antennas, calibration, synchronization, and over-the-air testing. Teamwork: Ability to collaborate in an interdisciplinary environment, working with researchers and engineers at different seniority levels. Communication: Strong written and oral communication skills for preparing technical reports, presentations, and publications. Independence: Proven ability to work independently, from problem formulation, experimental design, and system integration to data analysis and reporting. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists, graduate students and undergraduate students.
