The University of Chittagong was established in 1966 with only 200 students in its first cohort. It has since become a leading institution of higher education, providing students with a conducive environment for learning, research, and personal growth. As its name suggests, the university is located in Chittagong, the second-largest city in Bangladesh. Home to the Port of Chittagong, the city is one of the busiest ports in the country and the Bay of Bengal. The university is comprised of 10 faculties: Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Business Administration, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Biological Sciences, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Marine Sciences and Fisheries, and the Faculty of Medicine. Each faculty consists of different departments and institutes which offer a wide range of degree programmes at bachelor, masters, and doctoral level. Outside the classroom, the university offers cultural events, extracurricular activities, and sports competitions.

Ref.: 536482 Work type: Full-time Department: Department of Social Work and Social Administration (30300) Categories: Teaching Staff Applications are invited for appointment as Assistant Lecturer (holding the title of Curriculum Coordinator) in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration (Ref.:536482) to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will come with contract end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability. The appointee will be responsible for planning and implementation of training and coaching in a capacity building project for NGOs in Hong Kong. The target trainees will be the management, professional and front-line staffs and volunteers of NGOs. The appointee is expected to be active in practice research and education innovations. Applicants should possess a Bachelor degree or higher qualification with a strong record of teaching. Preference will be given to those with expertise in teaching and training, and/or conducting research in the following disciplines: non-profit management, social services management, organization development, social and public administration. Being the Curriculum Coordinator, the appointee will be responsible for the curriculum design and the coordination of the training schedule of the project.
