The University of Central Punjab is located in Lahore, the capital of the Pakistani province of Punjab. The university has nine faculties offering a range of programmes. These faculties include: information technology, engineering, pharmacy, life sciences, arts and social sciences, media and communication studies, languages and literature, law, and management sciences. Across these faculties, both undergraduate and postgraduate courses are offered to prospective students. Undergraduate students can choose a four-year bachelor's degree in a range of courses. For those wishing to pursue postgraduate studies, master's courses of an extra two-year duration can be completed after students finish their undergraduate degree. The University of Central Punjab was one of the first universities in Pakistan to move towards a greener campus, and is also equipped with facilities including science and technology labs. There are a range of recreational facilities including two gymnasiums, a swimming pool, two indoor cafeterias, rooftop cafes, and an amphitheatre. Entrepreneurship is encouraged at the university. In addition to promoting entrepreneurship, the university aims to equip students with a range of skills before they graduate, with the opportunity to join numerous societies related to education, social causes, art, and socialisation.

Job Details This Research Fellow will contribute to the UrEco 2030+ project: “Optimizing Urban Ecosystem Services Model for Urban Climate and Biodiversity in Singapore towards 2030 and Beyond.” This position requires experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and related fields, with added expertise in ecosystem services assessment, ecological engineering, social sciences, policy making, environmental science, and/or urban environmental issues at the policy–academic interface. This position is ideal for an early- or mid-career researcher with experience in GIS or remote sensing who seeks to apply and expand their expertise in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary research environment. The successful candidate will work with leading researchers and contribute to cutting-edge research and policy dialogues at the intersection of blue–green infrastructure, tropical urban ecosystem services, and urban resilience (covering themes such as urban flooding, thermal cooling, recreation, and biodiversity). The work includes Local Climate Zone (LCZ) classification and collaboration with Japanese university partners for integrated macro- to micro-scale analysis. As part of understanding the ecosystem services that are involved in Singapore, the successful candidate will also be expected to perform some field-based data collection during the duration of the project. Key Responsibilities Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. Identify, simulate, and analyse ecosystem service models using GIS, remote sensing, and field data. Manage, process, and analyse ecological and socio-economic datasets to develop and calibrate high-accuracy ecosystem service models. Conduct literature reviews and synthesize findings into conceptual frameworks and research designs. Support cross–work package integration, particularly in developing tools for blue–green infrastructure policy and decision-making. Perform quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis, and visualization. Draft and edit research reports, policy briefs, and academic manuscripts. Contribute to project management, workshop organization, and stakeholder or policy dialogues. Be involved in regular field work data collection and to perform environmental and biodiversity surveys (fish, birds and insects) as part of a research team.  To communicate and liaise with any internal and external stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met. Any other ad-hoc duties assigned by Supervisor. Job Requirements PhD in Geography, GIS, Remote Sensing, Environmental Science, Earth Science, or related disciplines. Strong working knowledge of GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and spatial data analysis techniques. Training or demonstrated experience in remote sensing, spatial data collection, and thematic mapping. Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., R, MATLAB, SPSS, Primer, Python). Experience with analytical techniques such as ANOVA, PCA, Regression, and Multidimensional Scaling (MDS). Experience in ecosystem service identification and analysis is highly advantageous. Excellent data management, research design, and reporting skills. Strong communication and presentation skills in English. Highly organized, proactive, and capable of working both independently and within multidisciplinary teams. Additional Note: While prior experience in ecosystem service modelling and simulation is not mandatory, it will be considered a strong advantage. The Vietnamese-German University (VGU) is seeking a highly qualified full-time lecturer in Automotive Engineering. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in this field or a closely related field and have a strong research experience. Relevant international experience is of advantage. The successful candidate will become part of an international network of universities and research institutes. Teaching Responsibilities In the role of a lecturer, the successful candidate will teach modules in the Bachelor's program in Smart Mobility Engineering (SME). The expected workload for the inclass lecture conduction is 08 academic hours per week, totaling 240 academic hours per year (1 academic hour equals to 45 minutes). The successful lecturer should deploy the research-informed teaching approach while offering lectures of the following modules, but not limited to: Automotive Engineering: Fundamentals of Automotive Engineering, Vehicle Dynamics, Core Technologies for Future Vehicles, Automotive Regulations and Standard, Product development process in automotive industry. Electric Vehicle Engineering: Introduction to Electric Vehicles, The Role of Electric Vehicles in Sustainable Development, Electric Vehicle Battery Systems, Charging Systems for Electric Vehicles, An Overall Design of Electric Powertrain System. Research Responsibilities As a faculty member of a research-oriented university, the successful candidate is expected to conduct research activities (including research projects, organizing scientific seminars/workshops/conferences, and supervising doctoral candidates) to contribute to building the scientific profile of VGU. At first, the lecturer must be capable of successfully applying research grants and funds to support research activities. Secondly, research activities led by the lecturer shall be inter- and trans-disciplinary with a focus on sustainable automotive systems, covering vehicle technology (electrification, lightweight materials, energy-efficient drivetrains), use phase (efficient driving, shared mobility, connected vehicle tech for traffic optimization), and urban/system context (integration with sustainable transport planning, congestion and traffic safety management). Lastly, the lecturer will play as an active senior researcher at the Vietnamese-German Transport Research Center (VGTRC) and willing to join research clusters when required. Administrative responsibilities The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the development of the SME program by participating in administrative, marketing and student recruitment, and other activities of the program in consultation with the Academic Coordinator of the study program and the German partner university(ies). The successful candidate will be also responsible for managing the operation and maintenance of the laboratory equipment and devices used for research and educational activities, as assigned by the Academic Coordinator and/or VGTRC director. She or he is also expected to contribute actively to the academic selfadministration of the Faculty of Engineering and university by being willing to stand for election to the Faculty Council, Academic Senate and/or other bodies. Qualification Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Automotive Engineering, or a closely related field, preferably from a well-known international university. A current title of Associate/Full Professor will be a plus, as experience and understanding of the German higher education system and methodology.
