There are five faculties at UC, offering undergraduate, postgraduate and higher degree by research options.

The Faculty of Health has made UC one of Australia’s leaders in health and sport education, with the UC Hospital, Canberra Specialist Medical Centre, Community Health Hub, the Research Institute for Sport and Exercise (UCRISE), and Australian Geospatial Health Lab all located on campus, and providing stellar hubs for practical work and research. The university is also a training and development hub for elite athletes and professional sporting teams.

The Faculty of Education seeks to change the world, one brilliant, empathetic, inspiring teacher at a time, with accredited courses in Early Childhood, Primary, Secondary and Educational Leadership. Programs at the Faculty of Arts and Design are propelled by creativity and a deep passion for design of all kinds – in communications, in the arts, architecture and the built environment. It is also the home of our national News and Media Research Centre and the Centre for Creative and Cultural Research.

At the Faculty of Business, Government and Law, flexible study options and degree combinations are designed to combine academic and real-world experiences, with employers, industry, government and professionals integrated into the curriculum The faculty encompasses the Canberra Law School, the Canberra Business School, the Canberra School of Politics, Economics & Society as well as IGPA.

The Faculty of Science and Technology spans the educational and research spectrum of environmental science, biomedical science, conservation biology, data science, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and the Internet of Things (IoT) – and that’s just the tip of the sci-tech iceberg. In addition to the IAE, cross-disciplinary research hubs include the Human Centred Technology Research Centre (HCTRC), the Centre for Research in Therapeutic Solutions (CRESTS), and the National Centre for Forensic Studies (NCFS).

Ranked in the top ten of Australia’s best universities (The Times Higher Education World Rankings 2020), UC is also in the top 200 worldwide (Times Higher Education World Rankings 2020). It is also one of the world’s Top 20 Young Universities.

These are remarkable numbers for a university only 30 years young, having begun its life as the Canberra College of Advanced Education in 1967. It commenced as the University of Canberra in 1990.

Description Jaime Napier’s Lab at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is seeking a Post-Doctoral Associate to conduct globally-conscious research on gender-related attitudes, gender stereotypes, and/or attitudes and beliefs about sexual orientation. Terms of employment include competitive salary and benefits. Research in our lab focuses on the social and psychological antecedents and consequences of inequality, broadly defined. The ideal candidate for the current position will have a strong background in research on gender and sexual orientation. Some potential projects include: (1) understanding backlash against gender equality and queer rights; (2) understanding the content and structure of gender stereotypes and their consequences; and (3) examining patterns of gender-related attitudes over time and cross-nationally. The position entails involvement in all stages of research, including (but not limited to) study design, data collection, data analysis, manuscript preparation. Candidates must hold a PhD in social psychology or a closely related field, with no more than five years post receipt of the PhD, be competent in research design and advanced statistical analyses, and have strong writing and communication skills. Description New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications for a Junior Research Scientist to join an exciting multidisciplinary research program investigating the environmental and ecological drivers of productive fishing grounds in the United Arab Emirates. Working in partnership with Emirates Nature–WWF and government stakeholders, the successful candidate will support marine ecological surveys, fisheries monitoring, and environmental assessments that will contribute to evidence-based fisheries management and habitat restoration. The Junior Research Scientist will become part of a multidisciplinary team undertaking ecological field surveys, environmental monitoring, habitat assessments, and fisheries research throughout the UAE. The role combines regular fieldwork with laboratory and data analysis, providing opportunities to contribute to applied research that directly supports marine conservation and sustainable fisheries management. Working closely with researchers from Mubadala ACCESS, the successful candidate will assist with the collection, processing, analysis, and interpretation of biological and environmental data, while contributing to technical reports, scientific publications, and stakeholder outputs. Responsibilities include supporting marine field surveys, including fish community assessments, benthic habitat monitoring, underwater visual surveys, and environmental sampling. The successful candidate will assist with the deployment and maintenance of environmental monitoring equipment, process biological and environmental samples, maintain accurate field records, and contribute to data management and preliminary statistical analyses. The Junior Research Scientist will also participate in laboratory activities, support field logistics and equipment preparation, contribute to technical reports and scientific publications, and assist with workshops and stakeholder engagement activities as required. Applicants must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marine Biology, Marine Science, Fisheries Science, Environmental Science, or a closely related discipline. Master's with less than 5 years of research experience in the relevant field, or a Bachelor's degree with any level of experience. The ideal candidate will have experience participating in marine field surveys and collecting biological or environmental data. Experience with coral reef or fisheries monitoring, SCUBA diving certification, and proficiency in statistical software such as R are highly desirable. Construction Research Group at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD), led by Prof. Borja García de Soto, is seeking to recruit a highly motivated Post-Doctoral Associate to conduct interdisciplinary research at the intersection of digital construction technologies and cybersecurity. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research focused on improving the security, resilience, and trustworthiness of the increasingly digitalized and connected built environment. Applicants with expertise in construction engineering and management, computer science, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, robotics, digital twins, Building Information Modeling (BIM), or related disciplines are encouraged to apply. The S.M.A.R.T. Construction Research Group conducts world-leading research to advance the digital transformation of the architecture, engineering, construction, and operations (AECO) industry through automation, artificial intelligence, robotics, digital twins, BIM, and technology integration.
