This is a unique opportunity to step into a high‑impact role at the centre of University leadership, providing strategic and operational support to the Interim Vice-Chancellor working closely with the broader Portfolio leadership team. This position operates in a fast-paced, highly complex environment where priorities shift rapidly and where the capacity to anticipate needs, interpret context and exercise judgement is critical. The role offers exceptional exposure to executive decision-making, governance and strategic planning at the highest levels of the institution. The Role As the Senior Executive Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective functioning of the Office of the Interim Vice-Chancellor. You will provide high-level executive support to the Interim Vice-Chancellor and senior leadership team, operating with a level of autonomy, discretion and professional maturity expected of those working directly with the University’s most senior leaders. This role goes well beyond traditional diary and administrative coordination. The Senior Executive Assistant acts as a key conduit between the Vice-Chancellor’s Office and internal and external stakeholders, often serving as the first point of contact for complex, sensitive or confidential matters. You will manage the commitments and schedule of the Interim Vice-Chancellor and Provost with exceptional attention to detail, prioritising competing demands and ensuring seamless workflow across the portfolio. You will also prepare and quality‑assure briefings, advice, correspondence and documentation that inform executive decision‑making, often under tight timeframes and with significant reputational implications. This opportunity will appeal to a highly experienced EA seeking to operate at a senior executive level, or someone ready to step up to a role with significant exposure, responsibility and influence within the higher education sector. The position requires excellent administrative capability, but also the strategic awareness, political acumen, initiative and sound judgement needed to operate effectively within the Office of the Vice-Chancellor. To succeed in the role, the Senior Executive Assistant will need the confidence, resilience and judgement to manage multiple high‑stakes tasks and priorities—many of them complex, sensitive and confidential—while maintaining strong relationships and representing the Vice-Chancellor’s Office with professionalism. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. The primary responsibility of this position is to deliver on a research project to develop an End-to-end misinformation and disinformation protection, awareness and mitigation pipeline. We will be recruiting a research engineers or fellows, as part of a wider project, to conduct research on: Signal processing combined with AI-based modification on speech signals. The need is for a real-time system, so efficient coding is important. Key Responsibilities: Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI) Ian McLoughlin, Co-PI Tong Rong and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met.  Undertake research within your domain, including keeping track of state-of-the-art work. Develop the code, evaluate and test. Write academic publications. Deliver solution-ready demonstration code. Interact well within the team and the customers. Be self-directed to fulfil the project requirements. Job Requirements: Competence in working with languages such as C along with AI applications as well as Python-based coding . Have a degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering. Possessing a Master’s or PhD degree will definitely be advantageous. Knowledge of machine learning, pytorch, huggingface etc... Knowledge of speech, audio, time-series or signal processing is required. Ability to effectively and efficiently utilise industry-standard Linux-based computers for AI. Experience of authoring good quality academic publications. Manage undergraduate research assistants (if appropriate). Liaise with customers and collaborators in A*STAR and NTU, as well as collaborators in the UK and China. The post  holder will play a key role in providing professional support to the expansion of STEM Passport for Inclusion to community groups (i.e. Youthreach, Community Training Centres and Women’s Collective Ireland). This involves working in partnership with the coordinators of the centres, the Programme Manager, the local community groups, and learners and will require a high degree of professionalism and stakeholder management. This role will provide administrative support to the programme manager’s day-to-day running of the STEM Passport for Inclusion as well as planning events related to the programme. Salary: Administrative Officer II: €46,918 (pro rata) (1 point) Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
