The University of Batna 2 was established in 1977 as the University of Batna. In July 2015, it a presidential decree called for a restructure, resulting in two separate universities, the University of Batna 1 and the University of Batna 2. The university is situated in the Algerian city of Batna. Batna is the primary city and municipality of Batna Province, ranking as the fifth largest city in the country. The university is made up of eight faculties: earth and universe sciences, mathematics and computer science, medicine, science and techniques of sports and physical activities, nature and life sciences, industrial hygiene and security, technology, and foreign languages. Each faculty houses various departments offering a range of degree programmes at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Research constitutes a significant aspect of the university's activities through the Advanced Automation and Systems Analysis Laboratory, the Innovation Laboratory in Construction, Eco-design and Seismic Engineering, and the Risk Management Laboratory for Healthcare-related Infections. To enhance the student experience, the university has organised partnerships with higher education institutions worldwide, such as Singapore University Karawang in Indonesia and Hanyang University in Korea, as well as universities in Mexico, Japan, Romania, and Tunisia.

Job Description The Head works collaboratively with colleagues inside and outside the School of Humanities, Languages and Social Science to achieve high quality outcomes in all School activities. The role calls for leadership as well as management capabilities, to ensure widespread support for advancing the School's vision and direction, especially its commitment to quality and distinctiveness. The Head of School will design and implement appropriate strategies to enable all academic and administrative staff to achieve the best of their capacity in the context of transparent and efficient governance. As HLSS is a cross-campus School, the Head will provide leadership in maintaining and enhancing the School as a unitary part of the organisation, as well as sound management in ensuring the most efficient delivery of its activities across the two campuses. Schemes of Service: Research Division: Health and Social Sciences Employment Type: Temporary Job Purpose As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT.  The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on industry innovation research where you will support all aspects of the project to investigate neuroplasticity and recovery of movement quality after stroke using multimodal functional brain imaging and 3D human kinematics. This funded research brings together multidisciplinary expertise from Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), National University of Singapore (NUS), National University Hospital (NUH), University of Glasgow (UOG), Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH), Glasgow Royal Infirmary (GRI) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in the areas of Neuroscience, Psychology, Movement Science and Rehabilitation. Key Responsibilities Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI) and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. Prepare data collection forms/interview questions/questionnaire and recruit and/or interview subjects. Maintain accurate records of interviews, safeguarding the confidentiality of subjects, as necessary. Perform computational modelling and analysis of the neuroimaging and behavioural data, with guidance from senior colleagues as required. Provide ready access to all experimental data for the faculty researcher and/or supervisor. Prepare materials for submission to granting agencies, foundations and Ethics Committee review. Prepare progress reports for the PI and funding agency. Prepare other articles, reports, and presentations. Coordinate and attend project meetings, monitor the project budget and work on other projects and initiatives, as required. Conduct literature reviews for publications and research briefings. Contribute to the dissemination of research findings (e.g., journal, conference, book). Support and collaborate with research assistants, graduate and undergraduate students, where applicable. Work in a team, contribute to the identification of possible funding sources and/or the planning and development of externally funded research proposals in an area relevant to the project. Perform other research-related tasks as required by the Principal Investigator. Job Requirements A good degree in relevant discipline (e.g. experimental psychology, biopsychology, cognitive psychology, neuropsychology, neurology, psychiatry, cognitive neuroscience, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, computer science, physics or related fields). A PhD* (or equivalent research experience) in a relevant subject (only for Research Fellow position). Candidates with a non-healthcare degree are welcome to apply. Familiarity with image data analysis tools such as SPM, FSL, AFNI, and/or DSIStudio etc will be an advantage. Signal processing and programming skills (e.g. with Matlab, Python) will be an advantage. Ability to use statistical packages such as SPSS, R for statistical analyses and visualisation will be an advantage. Some research and/or clinical experience/interest in the area of stroke rehabilitation or care will be an advantage. Schemes of Service: Professional Officers Division: Professional Officers Employment Type: Fixed Term Job Purpose Innovation-as-a-Service Centre for Sustainability Innovation (IaaS CSI) is an ecosystem-level platform helmed by SIT to support innovation projects (from POC test-bedding to implementation) and talent development, thus enabling agencies and enterprises to accelerate innovation for the green economy. IaaS CSI aims to champion innovation within Singapore innovation ecosystem by bringing together capabilities from Universities, Polytechnics, ITE, Research Institutes, Industry. It is supported by the National Research Foundation (NRF) and staffed by Professional Officers/RE/RF who will link the industry to the research performers. The Professional Officer (Maritime), POM, with more than 15 years of industry experience, would enhance the performance outcomes of the IaaS CSI. The POM will work with industry partners to co-create commercially viable solutions by co-ideating and co-executing innovation projects. These projects will help the industries and businesses move up the value chain. While working on these projects, POM will have the opportunity to leverage or be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands. The success of these initiatives will bring about deeper collaboration with key industry stakeholders that will translate industry engagement into more innovation projects with SIT and/or the greater innovation ecosystem at large. The POM for Centre for Sustainability Innovation will play a pivotal role in advancing sustainability-focused research and projects that are relevant to the maritime domain. Key Responsibilities Applied Research and Innovation Lead and manage projects impacting the Maritime ecosystem i.e., vessel owners, port and terminals, fuel supply chain, technology providers, ship managers, policy makers, etc, focussing on sustainability innovation, including but not limited to carbon accounting and management, renewable energy, circular economy, sustainable materials, and carbon reduction technologies. Collaborate with other domain in the IaaS CSI to leverage cross functional capabilities to enhance innovation outcomes e.g., Chemicals. Support life cycle analysis (LCA), environmental impact assessments, and resource optimization studies to address real-world sustainability challenges. Explore emerging technologies, frameworks, and practices to advance sustainable solutions in industries. Industry Engagement Technical professionals who will work with local enterprises to frame projects, identify capabilities needed from the industry ecosystem, IHLs and centers. Collaborate with industry partners to co-create sustainable solutions that enhance their operations and align with sustainability goals. Foster partnerships with businesses, government agencies, and other stakeholders to develop impactful projects that enhance environmental, social, and economic outcomes. Involve in industry engagements, help to bring in higher value-added projects for the centres in SIT, Polytechnics, ITE and other IHLs and RIs. Identify emerging trends and opportunities in sustainability to position SIT as a key partner in environmental sustainability innovation. Demonstrate thought leadership by speaking at conferences or publishing opinion pieces to promote the mission of IaaS CSI. Project Management Secure funding for research and innovation projects through grant applications and proposals. Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of sustainability-related projects, ensuring timely completion and high-quality outcomes. Monitor project progress, budgets, and milestones, providing regular updates to stakeholders. Professional Development and Expertise Stay updated with developments in sustainability innovation, including new technologies, regulations, and industry practices. Job Requirements A degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Maritime Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Engineering with sustainability training, or a related field. A Master’s or PhD is preferred. At least 15 years of relevant industry experience, with a proven track record in sustainability innovation and ESG integration. Representation on National committees e.g., Standards Organisation or Industry Association will be key for industry networks and an added advantage Strong knowledge of environmental technologies, resource management, and sustainable business practices. The university is seeking to employee a Research Assistant ( HEO 5) to support the delivery of a research project which received $980K funding through the Medical Research Fund Traumatic Brain Injury mission. The project, "Enhancing Community Engagement in Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Rehabilitation Through the Social Brain Toolkit" involves developing and piloting an innovative model of care - the Social Brain Clinic. The Social Brain Clinic involves student speech pathologists and mentors with lived experience of TBI working together to provide online programs to rebuild communication skills, to people with TBI located across Australia. This role will be embedded within the University of Sydney's ABI Communication Lab (Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Communication Lab - ABI Communication Lab) - a dynamic team of researchers, academics and clinicians who are developing innovative approaches in brain injury rehabilitation. The successful candidate will play an integral role in the multidisciplinary project team. They will take on a range of responsibilities including providing practice education for speech pathology students, supporting research data collection and management, developing resources and project communications, and participating in strategic planning for sustainability of this new clinic.
