The University of Balochistan was established in 1970 in the Pakistani province of Balochistan. It is Balochistan’s oldest higher education institution.

It began with the three departments of physics, chemistry and geology, but now has 46 departments and seven faculties, including management sciences; business and information sciences; social science; education and humanities; literature and languages; basic sciences; earth and environment sciences and life sciences.

Across these faculties, students can choose to study an array of courses from Urdu to zoology, biochemistry to English literature and mineralogy to pharmacology.
