About AgroBioSciences (AgBS): The AgroBioSciences (AgBS) program is a component of the Science & Technology pole of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P). It constitutes a structure of higher education and practical-based research with a vision of solving real African agriculture challenges by leveraging up-to-date science and technology. The AgroBiosciences Program Research Center leverages up-to-date technologies to address African agriculture challenges. It is a multidisciplinary research center that aims to conduct relevant, cutting-edge research that positively impacts African agriculture. It is based on the collaboration and synergy of several research programs targeting diverse disciplines of research in agriculture, such as  Microbiome, Omics, Plant Physiology and Crop Improvement, Plant Pathology, By-products Valorization, Soil Sciences, Agronomy, and Sustainable Farming… AGBS is seeking a highly motivated and skilled postdoctoral researcher to join our interdisciplinary team studying the biology of microalgae and soil cyanobacteria. This position will focus on understanding the ecological roles and potential applications of these microorganisms in agricultural systems, specifically for improving soil health, nutrient cycling, and sustainability. The successful candidate will conduct cutting-edge research on how microalgae and cyanobacteria can enhance soil fertility, optimize nutrient availability, and contribute to more sustainable agricultural practices. Job Responsibilities Study the biology, ecology, and physiology of microalgae and cyanobacteria, particularly their role in soil nutrient cycling, nitrogen fixation, and carbon sequestration. Investigate the mechanisms through which these microorganisms interact with soil environments and plants, particularly in relation to enhancing soil fertility, water retention, and microbial diversity. Develop and optimize biofertilizers or biostimulants based on cyanobacteria and microalgae to improve soil health and agricultural productivity. Study the effects of these microorganisms on crop growth, soil nutrient availability, and plant-microbe interactions. Design and execute laboratory, greenhouse, and field experiments to assess the efficacy of microalgae and cyanobacteria in improving soil quality and plant performance. Analyze experimental data using appropriate statistical methods and communicate findings through scientific publications. Work closely with researchers from other disciplines, such as microbiology, soil science, and agriculture, to integrate findings into broader agricultural and environmental research efforts. Present research findings at conferences and collaborate with industry partners or stakeholders on practical applications of research. Mentor graduate students, interns, or research assistants involved in related projects. Qualifications: Ph.D. in Microbiology, Environmental Biology, Soil Science, or a related field. Strong background in microbial ecology, particularly with experience in cyanobacteria or microalgae biology. Experience with experimental design and data analysis in both laboratory and field settings. Familiarity with agricultural microbiology, plant-microbe interactions, or biofertilizer development is highly desirable. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a strong record of scientific publications. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of key student casework processes, including Academic Appeals, Student Complaints, Student Discipline, and Fitness to Practise. The role: As an Administrative Officer, you will contribute to the delivery of high‑quality administrative services across our casework functions. Working with minimal supervision, you will manage your individual workload, plan and prioritise activities and ensure that casework is progressed effectively. You will apply a strong working knowledge of relevant policies and procedures, using your judgement to resolve queries where possible and escalating issues appropriately. A typical day could include helping with enquiries from students and staff, preparing documentation for investigations, updating systems, analysing data to help underpin improvements and collaborating with colleagues across Student Administration and Academic Affairs. Required skills and experience: You will bring practical experience in administrative or secretarial roles with relevant vocational training or qualifications at Level 2 or 3 of the Regulated Qualifications Framework. You’ll be confident using Microsoft Office and web‑based IT systems, with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and in line with policy requirements.
