Your personal sphere of play: As a University Assistant Post Doc, you will join the research team led by Professor Michael Waibel. Our research and teaching focus on International Law and International Economic Law. Your responsibilities will include research, teaching, and administrative tasks. Professor Waibel’s team currently consists of 1 postdoctoral researcher, 5 doctoral researchers (prae‑doc), and 1 administrative staff member. The employment contract has a duration of 4 years. Your future tasks: Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means: You will further develop your existing, internationally visible research profile in international law through publications in academic journals and conference presentations. You will independently teach courses in accordance with the collective labor agreement. You will contribute to editing the European Journal of International Law and collaborate with Co-Editor-in-Chief Professor Michael Waibel. You will make a significant contribution to the team’s international research projects. You will undertake administrative duties in research and teaching and assist in organising conferences. This is part of your profile: What you contribute You intend to pursue an academic career. A completed doctoral degree in international law when the employment commences. Generalist knowledge of international law, not limited to just one subfield. Teaching experience in international law, especially in English, and demonstrated excellence in teaching ( teaching evaluations). An established research profile with at least one publication in a leading international academic journal. Experience with research projects in international law and willingness to contribute to larger research projects. Excellent command of English, both spoken and written. A team player with strong social and communication skills. Act as a mentor for doctoral candidates. Independent and structured working style; strong organisational skills. Additional experience (e.g., work experience in a law firm or international organisations; further academic degrees) is an advantage. Experience in editing a journal or book is an advantage.
