Job Description SCHOOL OF CHINESE MEDICINE TEACHING AND RESEARCH DIVISION The School of Chinese Medicine was established in 1999 and offers comprehensive education programmes in Chinese medicine, including both undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy in Chinese Medicine. The School is engaged in a wide range of research projects, provides Chinese medicine healthcare services to the community, and seeks to foster modernisation of the Chinese medicine profession. To consolidate the strengths of innovative research, the School has established eight high quality theme-based Research Centres equipped with advanced equipment and facilities. The highlighted strategic research areas in the School include (1) Precision medicine and phenomics study; (2) Translational medicine and innovative drug discovery; and (3) Authentication and testing of Chinese medicines. Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Professor (23241272) The School of Chinese Medicine now invites applications for faculty position at the Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor level. Applicants should possess a PhD in medicinal chemistry/biochemistry/biology/medicine background and research focus on the area are invited to join the School. Excellent interpersonal communication and scientific writing skills are required. Preference will be given to candidates with appealing external grant record, outstanding publication and leading potential of industrialisation for development of prognostic and predictive biomarkers as well as innovative therapeutic intervention. The appointee is also expected to teach chemistry/systems biology/biomedical sciences at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, establish a vigorous and independent research programme in the areas of interest, and lead the school phenome research center to develop interdisciplinary collaborations within and outside the School. This is a tenure-track position with an initial appointment on a fixed-term contract of two to three years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.
