Universitas Ciputra

Universitas Ciputra is a private university located in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. It is known for its focus on entrepreneurship education and its stated aim of developing graduates with strong business and innovation skills. The institution traces its origins to 1990 and was officially granted university status in 2006, when it became a fully recognised higher education institution under Indonesian regulations.

The university is based in UC Town within the Citraland development area of Surabaya, and it also operates a branch campus in Makassar known as the Ciputra School of Business Makassar. 

Universitas Ciputra was founded by the Ciputra Group, a major Indonesian property and business organisation. This background has influenced its academic structure, with entrepreneurship integrated across all areas of study rather than being treated as a separate subject.

The university offers programmes across faculties including management and business, information technology, creative industries, psychology, tourism, communication and business media, and medicine. Its curriculum is designed to combine academic study with applied project work, encouraging students to develop business ideas and engage in practical experience during their studies.

A defining feature of the university is its emphasis on experiential learning. Students take part in activities such as business incubators, simulations and industry projects. These are supported by facilities including innovation spaces, creative studios, entrepreneurship laboratories and specialist practical training environments such as culinary facilities.
