Description The Environmental Genomics Laboratory in the Division of Science at New York University Abu Dhabi seeks a Junior Research Scientist to investigate the genetic and environmental factors modulating the human immune response during lifestyle transitions in Mongolia. This role is an excellent opportunity for an individual with fieldwork experience in resource-limited settings, robust experimental skills in immunology and microbiome research, and hands-on experience in multi-omics analysis. The successful candidate will implement and execute fieldwork protocols in Mongolia, including biological sample and data collection, perform lab-based multi-omics experiments, and conduct computational analyses using statistical genetics. Additionally, the role involves maintaining lab safety and data security, alongside providing direct supervision and mentorship to undergraduate students, research assistants, and visiting scholars. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. Required qualifications include hands-on experience in field-based and multi-omics research within resource-limited settings, demonstrated experience in multi-omics data generation and analysis, and a track record of publication(s) directly related to the topic of the study.
