Does this sound like you? Then join our accomplished team! Your personal sphere of influence: The Institute for Religious Education is a sub-unit of the Faculty of Protestant Theology. The vacant position as university assistant (praedoc) serves to strengthen our teaching and research portfolio. We are looking for Protestant theologians with a special interest in working on research questions in religious education. We are a research-active institute, emphasise an inspiring working atmosphere and offer a flexible working environment. The duration of the contract is 4 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to a total of 4 years if the employer does not submit a declaration of non-renewal within the first 12 months. Your future tasks: You will play an active role in the research, teaching and administration of the Institute, i.e: You will be involved in research projects and publications in Religious Education. You will work on and complete your dissertation in Religious Education. We expect you to complete your dissertation agreement within 6-12 months. You will participate in doctoral seminars at the Institute. You will teach independent courses in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement. This is part of your personality: Completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Protestant Theology or a corresponding teacher training degree program (the final degree certificate must be available no later than the date of appointment). A keen interest in religious education, a willingness to attend and organize national and international conferences and to work in a team, and good IT user skills A strong interest in interdisciplinary exchange with neighbouring disciplines You are interested in empirical research approaches. Your personal sphere of influence: As a Predoctoral University Assistant, you work as a member of the team led by Professor Peter Schweitzer at the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology. The research focuses is on the topics of climate change, structural transformation and the Alpine region. We are looking for a person with relevant research interest (dissertation topic), first research and publication experience and excellent language skills in German and English (both at least C1 level) As part of the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology not only brings together renowned scientists and students, but also different research areas, a variety of ethnographic methods, a large number of outstanding research projects and appreciative collegial exchange. The employment is limited to 15 months; an extension is not possible. This is a part-time position; working time is 30 hours per week. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across clinical research, functional assessment, imaging analysis, and laboratory investigation in a multidisciplinary academic environment. The successful candidate will support a funded research project that aims to generate clinically relevant insights into ageing, muscle health, and spine-related conditions. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who are passionate about meaningful research and wish to build strong experience in applied human and translational studies. You will lead and support colleagues delivering face-to-face and digital enquiry services, helping to maintain an efficient, responsive and user-focused service. You should be educated to degree level or have equivalent relevant experience. Candidates without formal qualifications but with significant, relevant experience will also be considered. You will have experience working in a customer-focused, service delivery environment, ideally within a library, IT or educational setting, along with experience of delivering enquiry services in a digital environment. You should have excellent communication, customer care and team working skills, alongside the ability to manage, motivate and develop staff. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and digital systems is essential, as is the ability to gather and analyse information to support service improvements. You will be confident working both independently and as part of a team, able to problem-solve effectively and maintain high service standards under pressure. Experience of supervising staff, contributing to service development or projects, and an interest in innovation and continuous improvement will be advantageous. A flexible approach and willingness to acquire new skills are essential to support service delivery in a changing environment.
