FACULTY OPENINGS AT THE SINGAPORE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY The Centre for Professional Communication (CPC) equips all SIT students with critical communication skills that are essential for academic and professional success. We currently have positions available from Lecturer to Associate Professor. Successful candidates will join the Centre as members of a team of accomplished experts who are passionate about incorporating critical thinking in the teaching of academic and professional communication skills that are transferable to the workplace and vital for professional success. Successful candidates will also be actively involved in embedding the teaching of specific academic writing, speaking and workplace communication skills in content modules across academic years and undergraduate programmes in different disciplines. CPC faculty are expected to develop and update curriculum through applied research in communication in the disciplines. They are also provided with paid leave to undertake consultancy work with industry and/or conduct courses for in-employment learners. We seek collegiate and team-spirited candidates who have corporate people management experience with thought leadership in professional communication and/or corporate training experience in professional communication. Candidates should possess at least a Master’s degree or an earned PhD or equivalent from a reputable university with specialisation related to academic and/or professional communication. Description The Laboratory of Applied Nonlinear Dynamics (L.A.N.D.) within the Division of Engineering at New York University Abu Dhabi invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position, with a start date of November 2026. The successful candidate will have prior research experience, both computational and experimental, in the broad field of nonlinear mechanics. Preference will be given to applicants with expertise in machine learning, wave propagation, metamaterials, and/or fluid–structure interactions. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline, with no more than five years post receipt of the PhD. Strong English communication skills, the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, and demonstrated scientific creativity are essential. The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting computational and experimental research in one or more of the aforementioned areas, preparing manuscripts for publication in academic journals and conferences, assisting in the development of research proposals for funding agencies, presenting research findings to both academic and sponsor audiences, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the laboratory. You will: engage with key stakeholders and developers to elicit, document and communicate their product and service needs; lead agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups and retrospectives; ensure business analysis activities support consistent, scalable and sustainable service solutions; and ensure deliverables are produced and delivered on time. About you You will have a demonstrated understanding of research context and the role of web-based services in transforming and accelerating research in Australia along with a demonstrable curiosity and understanding in emerging technology trends and their applicability to the Australian research sector. You will possess: demonstrated expertise in developing details requirements specifications, conducting testing and creating end-user documentation; demonstrated skills and experience in Agile/iterative methodologies. experience in Agile coaching or Scrum Master along with demonstrated technical expertise in Jira and Confluence strongly preferred; and extensive experience working closely with technical teams and web application developers across the entire Software Development Life Cycle.
