Position Title: Postdoctoral Researcher – non-conventional phosphates beneficiation. Duration: 12 months. Position Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled postdoctoral researcher to join a multidisciplinary research project dedicated to the sustainable valorization of non-conventional phosphates (including phosphates sludges) and the development of beneficiation processes (classification, grinding and flotation or others). The successful candidate will lead research efforts to evaluate the feasibility of upgrading non-conventional phosphates by flotation or other techniques. This work will involve mineralogical and chemical characterization, process testing at laboratory scale, and techno-economic evaluation of developed routes. The project contributes to Morocco’s strategic objectives in resource valorization, environmental sustainability, and circular economy, in close collaboration with academic and industrial partners. Area of Research: Sustainable mineral processing, with emphasis on phosphates beneficiation and process optimization. Main responsibilities: Conduct literature review on phosphate ore and waste processing and valorization; Operate and maintain mineral processing and analytical instruments; Design and execute laboratory-scale experiments for beneficiation (flotation, and others); Assess process parameters to optimize recovery and product quality; Evaluate potential valorization routes for process by-products and residues; Analyze, interpret, and synthesize experimental data to support process development; Contribute to the economic and environmental assessment of developed processes; Contribute to the preparation of scientific reports, publications, and technical notes. Collaborate with researchers, engineers, and students on project activities. Participate in regular project reviews and research meetings. Collaborate with internal teams, partner laboratories, and industrial stakeholders. Candidate Profile: Required qualifications : PhD in mineral processing, materials science, metallurgical engineering, or related discipline; Proven experience in ore characterization and process development; Strong background in mineral beneficiation; Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; Strong scientific writing and communication abilities in English (French is an asset); Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative research environment. Job Description LIFE SCIENCE IMAGING CENTER Research Assistant (25260649) The research assistant is expected to contribute/support cognitive neuroscience research on interdisciplinary projects, duties include literature review, data collection, data analysis and drafting manuscript. The appointee is expected to work with researchers at Life Science Imaging Center (LSIC). LSIC is a central research facility (https://lsic.hkbu.edu.hk/) built to support and promote cutting-edge neurocognitive studies across disciplines at HKBU. LSIC is equipped with a high-performance 3T Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) system that enables researchers to explore the structure and function of human brain. A high-performing computing server has been set up to support MRI data analysis.  Responsibilities: Manage MRI slot booking and the subject booking system, do data preprocessing, help with task programming, and manage devices (EEG/TMS/biopac/eyetracking/fNIRS); Help with administrative duties, such as organising workshops, inviting speakers, reimbursement; and Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in sciences or other related disciplines (e.g., Psychology, neuroscience);  Good analytical, communication and interpersonal skills; Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (good command of Cantonese is preferred); and Experience with some neuroscience-related equipment (EEG/TMS/biopac/eyetracking/fNIRS) is preferable. The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of 12 months commencing as soon as possible. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Description The Center for Translational Medical Devices (CENTMED) at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to recruit a postdoctoral research associate to join this new initiative focusing on designing and developing novel medical devices for ultimate human use. CENTMED oversees a variety of exciting projects developing new treatments and diagnostics for cardiovascular, neurologic, and metabolic diseases. The successful applicant will join a number of fascinating projects on engineering novel approaches to modulate physiology and neural activity in the brain, gastrointestinal (GI) tract, and other peripheral organs. These projects have a high potential for translation towards treating a variety of neurologic and metabolic disorders. These approaches entail device design and manufacturing, drug conjugation, neuroscience, and preclinical model experiments. The candidate will work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment alongside PhD-level engineers and scientists, graduate students, and full-time researchers. They will also have the chance to contribute to other projects within CENTMED, working on cutting-edge initiatives spanning metabolic, cardiovascular, and neurologic diseases. About Entity (Hiring entity): The Chair of Transitions at the Institute of Advanced Studies develops interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research on the major transformations reshaping contemporary societies, with particular attention to the ways social, technological, and epistemic shifts reconfigure identities, institutions, and forms of knowledge production. It supports experimental research infrastructures that respond to these transitions across disciplinary and methodological boundaries. Within this framework, the Chair hosts the “Kamara Portal: A Digital Philology of the Greater Western Sahel,” a research infrastructure project centered on the works of Shaykh Musa Kamara (1864–1945), a major Muslim intellectual of West Africa. The project examines Islamic intellectual production in the Greater Western Sahel as a site of religious, spatial, and epistemological transition, while simultaneously developing digital humanities methods that renew and recalibrate philological practice in light of contemporary technological and epistemic transformations. In doing so, it contributes to the Chair’s broader engagement with digital transformation, epistemic change, and the reconfiguration of intellectual heritage in and beyond Africa, while aligning with ongoing initiatives related to digital infrastructures, experimental publication platforms, and new research methodologies. Description of the position: The postdoctoral fellow will join the Kamara Portal at a formative stage, contributing to the development of a manuscript-based digital research platform. Kamara’s corpus circulates in multiple manuscript and print forms, raising questions concerning textuality, authorship, historical reasoning, and geographic imagination. The postdoctoral fellow’s primary responsibility is to contribute to the development of a pilot multilingual digital edition and commentary interface for Kamara’s major historical work. This research combines close philological interpretation with collaborative digital inquiry and sustained attention to the spatial and intellectual frameworks embedded in Sahelian historical writing. The fellow will conduct sustained comparative analysis across manuscript versions; work with Arabic texts and aligned French and English commentary; and collaborate in shaping the structure and scholarly norms of the digital research environment. Participation in regular research meetings and contribution to project publications are integral to the role. By the end of Year 1, the fellow will have supported the implementation of the pilot multilingual edition that anchors the project’s next phase. Advanced technical expertise is not required at the outset; rather, the fellow should demonstrate a willingness to learn new tools and to think critically about how computational methods and philological inquiry inform one another. In addition to their primary research responsibilities, the fellow will join a broader intellectual environment within the Chair of Transitions that engages questions of African humanities, methodological innovation, and the changing conditions of knowledge production.
