Universidad Tecnológica Metropolitana – known as UTEM – was established in Santiago in 1993. The university’s main building, however, dates from the first half of the 19th century, and has been designated as a property of historical and artistic interest.
Today, there are three additional campuses, spread across Santiago and housing specific faculties. The campus in Ñuñoa district, for example, is home to the faculties of engineering and natural sciences, mathematics and the environment.
UTEM offers 32 undergraduate degrees, spread across six faculties: administration and economics; construction sciences and land planning; natural sciences, mathematics an the environment; humanities and social communication technologies; engineering; and legal and social services.
There are no on-campus dormitories or official university hostels. Instead, students tend to rent private apartments or rooms in shared houses near to their particular campus.
Student clubs and societies are coordinated by the official student federation. Some clubs – such as Club CyberHub and Club ExDev – are overseen by university faculties.

About the Role

The Thermal Management Systems Facility is one of Cranfield University’s flagship experimental facilities, supporting the development of next-generation aerospace thermal management, fuel and lubrication systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in the continued development and operation of this capability, working alongside academics, researchers and industrial partners on technically challenging and highly applied engineering programmes.

As a Senior Test Facility Engineer, you will lead the development, integration, commissioning and operation of complex experimental systems and test rigs. Working across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control disciplines, you will transform research requirements into robust engineering solutions that deliver safe, reliable and high-quality experimental data.

This role combines engineering design, system integration, troubleshooting and facility operation. Working closely with academics, researchers and leading industrial partners, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing Cranfield’s experimental capabilities while supporting cutting-edge aerospace research.

The role offers a rare opportunity to take technical ownership of a unique experimental facility supporting nationally important aerospace research and technology development programmes.

About You

You will be an experienced engineer with a strong track record in the operation, commissioning, modification or development of complex engineering systems, test facilities or industrial process equipment.

Educated to degree level, or holding an HNC/HND with substantial industrial experience, you will have a broad understanding of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation systems, together with the practical skills required to diagnose problems and deliver effective engineering solutions. Professional registration (RSci, IEng, or equivalent) is essential.

You will be comfortable interpreting technical drawings and specifications, developing safe systems of work, and taking ownership of technical activities from concept through to implementation. Experience with instrumentation, control systems, data acquisition, hazardous fluids, pressurised systems or research and development facilities would be advantageous.

You will be a proactive engineer who enjoys solving practical problems, working collaboratively with others, and taking responsibility for the safe and successful delivery of technical projects.

The Center for Interdisciplinary Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (CIDSAI) at NYU Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a highly motivated researcher to work within its foundation cluster, led by Professors Pierre Youssef, Keith Ross, and Saurabh Ray.

The position will contribute to CIDSAI’s efforts to design AI systems that advance scientific and mathematical discovery, combining machine learning, reasoning, and human-AI collaboration. Successful candidates will work in a dynamic research environment at the intersection of data science, artificial intelligence, and mathematics, alongside faculty and researchers across disciplines.

The successful candidate will contribute to one or more of the following components:


	Reinforcement Learning for Reasoning
	Formal Verification and Lean Automation
	AI-Assisted Collaboration and Problem Formulation


Preference will be given to candidates with strong background in machine learning and mathematical reasoning and experience in one or more of the following:


	Large Language Models (LLMs), multi-agent systems, or reinforcement learning.
	Formal proof assistants (Lean, Coq, Isabelle, or similar).
	Programming.
	Strong mathematical maturity.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Department Head, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development, delivery and evaluation of a broad range of courses in Respiratory Therapy within the College of Health Sciences. S/he will evaluate student progress and manage the resources of the learning environment. The successful candidate will liaise with industry and other educational institutions; participate in industry advisory committees and coordinate, manage and control projects within the specified program area. Faculty members will keep course portfolio documents required for accreditation processes and engage in instructional development/improvement plans. Education and Experience Requirements

Faculty members will be placed in the appropriate rank based on their education and experience. The broad criteria are noted below.

Education


	A PhD or Doctorate in Respiratory Therapy or Respiratory-related health field. Those whose PhD or Doctorate is not in Respiratory Therapy must hold a graduate degree and/or undergraduate degree in Respiratory Therapy.
	Candidates must hold/eligible for an unrestricted license for the state/country in which the program is located.
	RRT credentials from The National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)/The Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapist (CSRT) preferred.


Experience


	Demonstrated record of academic experience and Respiratory Therapy practice.
	A minimum of five (5) years full-time equivalent recent (within six months) academic experience
	A minimum of two (2) years full-time equivalent clinical practice experience.
	Demonstrated competence with curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
	Demonstrated use diverse and current teaching approaches in the classroom and for practice experiences including the laboratory, simulation, and practicums.
	Demonstrated ability to use a variety of educational technology and platforms.

Scholarship and Research

The Museum Studies Programme in the Faculty of Arts is seeking a Research Assistant Professor to work on a project titled “Scientific Analysis of Chinese Painting,” in collaboration with the Hong Kong Museum of Art (HKMoA) and the Laboratory for Conservation and Science at HKU’s University Museum and Art Gallery (LCSD), to commence in January 2027, or as soon as possible thereafter, for a period of three years. The appointee will conduct their analytical work in the Laboratory for Conservation and Science at HKU’s University Museum and Art Gallery, as well as at the Conservation Office of the LCSD, on Chinese paintings from the HKMoA collection. This Fellowship aims to support research into the development of material techniques and practices in Chinese painting, including ink, pigments, seals, supports, and mounting methods.

The primary duties of the appointee will include the following:


	Perform scientific research: (a) to characterize materials, structures and components of Chinese paintings; (b) to broaden ways of studying these artworks, and (c) to synthesize scientific findings to address art historical questions and preservation challenges. Use advanced imaging technologies and scientific methods to uncover regional and historical differences in artistic practices and their broader significance for art history and conservation science. Publish scientific research in cultural heritage science and technical art history in excellent scholarly venues.
	Maintain working relationships with curators and conservators at HKMoA/LCSD, as well as with HKU’s faculty and technical staff, to foster collaborative research projects and publications focused on cultural heritage science. This may include overseeing efforts to engage selected students with the field of conservation.
	Work with the Principal Investigator of the Laboratory for Conservation and Science and the Head of Conservation at LCSD to foster understanding and assimilation of results and approaches of scientific research in the arts among curators, conservators, university professors and their students, administrators, other staff, the general public, and other HKU and HKMoA/LCSD stakeholders.
	Teach not less than one and up to two courses per year and offer one workshop on the analysis of Chinese paintings.
	Travel to attend conferences, present papers, and share research with colleagues in Hong Kong, China, and internationally. The appointee will lead at least one trip during the fellowship with selected students to world-leading museums and/or conservation labs for overseas learning and training purposes.
	Perform any other duties as directed by the Dean of Arts or the Director of the Museum Studies Programme or the PI.


Applicants must have a PhD degree in Chemistry, Material Science and Engineering, Physics, or related disciplines, or in Conservation/Heritage/Archaeological Science prior to the start of the fellowship. The degree must have been obtained within the last three years. Applicants should also be familiar with relevant scientific instrumentation such as infrared and ultraviolet/visible spectroscopy, optical microscopy, and X-ray fluorescence as well as data science skills. A strong interest in art conservation and art history, in particular, Chinese painting art history is required and previous experience in art-related research is desirable. The appointee will also be affiliated with HKU’s Society of Fellows in the Humanities (SoF).
